Rllmuk racing wheel thread

Quoting a semi old post here, but I am curious... how stable the thing is when clamped to the Wheelstand Pro? Because it sounds like you're expected to screw it on. The clamp kinda sucks, and the wheelstand doesn't have mount points for a Fanatec wheel.

The WSP does have mount points for Fanatec they just don't seem to advertise it..

My GT2 is screwed to my G27 WSP, i haven have the WSP special bits of metal to mount the CSP pedals!

As Shimmy said no clamp required. My GT2 is screwed into the WSP.

If you have any questions regarding the WSP, give them a quick email. I have always found them to be incredibly helpful and respond quick to customer inquiries.

Really worried about my wheel after the F1 race last night. Need to see if it was just an overheating problem, otherwise I'll be testing out Fanatecs famously iffy customer service.

Whats up with it?

FWIW, i have nothing but good to say about their customer service :o

That's good to know! I really hope I don't have to find out though.

Towards the end of last nights race the wheel started making a very strange grinding noise, I only had a few laps left so I carried on (losing a few places as I was quite distracted to say the least!). It felt like something had let go inside the wheel when the noise started and it carried on when it was in the neutral position after the race. I turned off the power and after restarting it the noise went away, but I didn't do any driving as I was tired after the race. I need to get some time with it and see if it was a temporary thing, but I'm convinced something has gone wrong with the force feedback :(

Could be the fan?

Famous for cables getting bounced on and off the fan, esp on the older wheels - when i had mine apart i checked and while it was all well out of the way i still tidied it up more!

Could be, I'll defo open it up and investigate if it happens again. Are they easy enough to open?

About €80-110 I reckon.

Here's a guide for some Xbox 360 wheels by Insidesimracing.

That guide was a bit of a joke to be honest. We all know the Fanatecs are the best wheels when it comes to the 360, but to not even feature the other makes of wheel? And then the guy reveals he is a Fanatec rep? Hardly unbiased journalism there.

Do you reckon you'll get the adapter in time for Korea next week, Harns?

I am seriously dreading what having a decent wheel and pedals is going to do to your pace. You're fast enough already damn it :blah:

I'd say Monday at the latest! That said, it's going to take a bit of getting used too, i had a quick thrash using A for throttle and the force feedback feels so different.

Love the paddle shifters, they feel awesome, really chunky and have a satisfying click. Bigger wheel rim is better too but the plastic top half is a bit cheap, also it has a very noisy fan, like Xbox loud! Still, won't be too bad with the sound turned up.

I have those chairs! :omg:

Ever since I've been using a wheel it's been on my lap, I don't see the big deal  Some of us just don't have a sturdy table/one at the right height to mount.

But you have those chairs! Do a Karzee!

Thanks for the photo, Harns. Looks ace!
