Disc Drivin' Grand Prix

Recommended Posts

Been waiting 4 days for a turn :(

Yes sorry my fault, I had a trapped nerve on my shoulder thus could not play.

Another race result - poor show by me

Outstanding:

---------------

A tight finish in the platinum. A single poor finishing position for letsbook was the difference.

Were waiting for ginger ing to make his final move - he's been parked in front of the finish line for the last 4 days

Might be worth PMing him in case he's forgotten about it :)

I just thought of something I think we should consider for the second round.

There's no denying that going first gives you an advantage in Disc Drivin'. Fortunately it's rarely gamebreaking, there's plenty of scope for luck and skill to even the playing field throughout the course of each race, but it can be a factor. And the person responsible for setting up each group's games, gets that advantage.

Would it be fair to say that for each league, the person who has just been relegated from the league above becomes the group co-ordinator? Kind of like a 'parachute payment' I guess. Or, is that unfair on the others in the group, who miss out on their chance to take 'pole position'?

Alternatively, is it just nothing to worry about and group leaders should simply be selected randomly. Thoughts?

If it was reduced to four rounds, everyone could start a round each. That might be a bit confusing to arrange, though. If one person does start all the rounds, they could add the other three people in a random order, perhaps, so at least it's mostly even.

That's a good idea, then you don't get the same person starting last every race.

In fact, the advantage you get from starting first is probably not as great as the disadvantage from being at the back of the pack every race - so maybe that's the best way to do it. Group leader ensures the other three players' order is mixed up for the races.

Its already in hand. I've a record of who started where this season and will be ensuring it's spread around the players. Starting a race each could make the season last a lot longer as you would not be taking your turns all at once.
