There's no way Swansea will even come close to going down. It'll take a fairly convoluted series of results for Villa to get involved, let alone a team 4 points ahead of them. I reckon 37 points will be the safety total this year, with Wolves, Blackburn and QPR heading south.

I'm starting to worry we aren't safe. We play Blackburn and Wolves at home this month, it's vital we pick up points in both games, even draws will do. Our poor form coincided with Brendan being linked to Spurs, we've not won a game since. If we keep up this form Spurs won't want him.

The press have been on and on to him about going to spurs. It must be distracting. Still no excuse for the poor form though.

Wolves were woeful tonight, they're down. Blackburn have shown they have a bit of fight in them, but they're not good enough to stay up and totally deserve relegation too. The next one is difficult - Wigan are getting back to doing well at the right time, QPR are getting a few results and Bolton are better than the season they've had. I'd like QPR to go down, but I think it might be Bolton. Villa look like they're trying for it at the last minute, but I think they've just left it a bit too late.

EDIT: I'm sure Swansea are safe though. Spread out the last 4 games across the rest of the season and you wouldn't notice them at all. It's not a great way to end a season though.

I'm telling myself that it is all part of Brendan's cunning plan to get media attention drawn away from him and take him out of contention for the Spurs job. 4 losses on the trot have got me a little nervous but we really should pick up some points in the few games we have left. Home games against Blackburn and Wolves are very winnable, Bolton away we can take points there too. Even the final game at home to Liverpool shouldn't be written off.

You're ten points clear of Bolton with just five games remaining for Swansea and six games remaining for Bolton. Your goal difference is twenty better than Bolton. It's mathematically possible as there's eighteen points to play for but Bolton have to win four of their last six and they have to play some tough fixtures.

It's not even a six pointer a week on Saturday.

Swansea still have to play against the bottom three teams.

It isn't a foregone conclusion and as a pessimistic football supporter, I'd be worrying about it too but I'd give you odds of 500-1 if you want to whack £100 on it :)

This season has been brilliant for making pundits look stupid and that's to be applauded.

Even now Chelsea are being totally written out of the top 4 by some when they are just 2 points behind Spurs and Newcastle?!

As for these mindgames. Apparently yesterday in the City programme Mancini said it's not over and that when at Inter Milan he came back from 5 points behind. So, today, when they win and Man United lose it actually now is over? Muppet.

Swansea won't go down.

The play-off promoted team always seems to go into free-fall as the season progresses (Burnley, Blackpool, Hull (if they did go up in the play-offs), but you've clocked up plenty of points already,

I can't help thinking that the Swanselona/best football team in the country nonsense is hurting a bit. Teams must be a bit more hyped up to give you a beating at the moment?

Don't go down though - in the slim chance we stumble up via the play-offs - we need to have at least 2 games against each other in the Prem before we both end up back in the dungeon in a few years.

Is anyone here following the rape case that has been going off over the last day or two? Sky News have a reporter tweeting from the court, some of the evidence isn't looking too rosy for the two footballers: http://twitter.com/#!/skynewsnorth

I had no idea these things took so long to go to court for a judgement though, this news had been rumbling on in the background since before the start of the season here, with one of the accused being a local player.

Serious Foul Play/Violent Conduct - 3 matches

Spitting at an opponent - 6 games

Use of offensive/insulting language - 2

Denying a obvious goal scoring opportunity (deliberate handball or conceding a foul)- 1 game

Second Yellow - 1 game

Doni was sent off for the goal scoring opportunity.

edit: apparently the document that table is from is not for the Premier League, but I don't see why there would be much difference if any.
