Reina's now suspended for the FA Cup semi-final against Everton. Brad Jones is the second choice keeper and he's not played a game this season. Perch did the usual footballer thing but Reina should know better. Poor old Liverpool aren't very good at the moment are they? I didn't realise it was so long ago that they won the league title.

Would Reina get in more trouble if he actually connected with Perch? It's such a waste to get a red for what he did. You'll see more aggressive behaviour than that go unpunished but there's no chance of an appeal. You've got to break a nose if you're going to miss the semi-final of the FA Cup.

Both players were guilty of simulation!

Pushing your head into someone seems to happen a lot in football nowadays (e.g.

earlier in the year) and something is only done about it by the ref if the other player rolls around pretending he is hurt so no wonder players do that - they would be hurting their team if they didnt.

Nope it's violent conduct either way. If you take a swing at someone and miss it's exactly the same offence.

(I'm just talking about the LOAF here rather than what "should" be the case)

Check out this Brazilian ballboy who pops onto the pitch to clear a goal-bound shot off the line during a match between Guarany and Sergipe to decide the Campeonato Sergipano (a regional league). Sergpipe break clear only to see their ‘goal’ stopped by the cheeky scamp, causing a near riot. While he might have prevented a goal, the ballboy couldn't stop Sergpipe winning 1-0.

No he isnt

I stand corrected. Doni is the second choice keeper. A Liverpool supporting friend at work corrected me on this but then went quiet when I asked him about Liverpool's recent form. I can see Everton beating them in the semi as they're ending the season very strongly and Liverpool can't seem to score. I don't particularly dislike Liverpool but, as a neutral, I find them quite boring to watch. Reina didn't do them any favours at all. I was quite pleased that Newcastle won the game yesterday - they seem to be a real team and I've always admired how passionate and loyal their fanbase are - no matter what league they play in, they attend games in their 1000s. Alan Pardew should really get the manager of the year award this season.

I hate dirty Scholes but the other guy should of gone for that, it's deliberate

You know what, I didn't even see that elbow despite watching it about 6 times trying to see what was so bad.

It's a shame the ref didn't miss it totally because the FA won't do a post-match review and ban now (or have they stopped that stupid policy yet?).
