Aye, I remember Wellens being fantastic in the same fixture last season.

We missed McLeary's ability to take people on, the lad has been on fire recently. Gunter was never going to pose an attacking threat on the right hand side. Still don't understand Cotterill's love-in with Marcus Tudgay, he repeatedly looks woeful when he makes an appearance. I'd rather see Ishmael Miller get a run, as he was looking reasonably sharp before he got injured.

Crawley beat Bradford 2-1 yesterday and then, after the final whistle, it looks like Bradford tried to beat Crawley

Three Bradford players sent off after the final whistle, their goalkeeper and their two centre halves. Plymouth are playing them on Saturday and it's a real six pointer at the bottom of league 2. Looks like they'll be missing three key players for that and the following two games (or possibly more). Crazy scenes and certainly not handbags. This all happened after the whistle - Crawley had seven players booked during the game.

I read this headline earlier on Twitter and I thought someone was taking the piss.

Inter unveiled their new manager today after sacking Ranieri. Their former youth team coach. Half way through the press conference this happened...

SERIOUSLY?

Grim times in Bradford (not that those are an unusual phenomenon there, like), those suspensions might pull them right back in the mix for a non-league place and Bradford Bulls are most likely going bust too.

They're supposed to be Huddersfield's big rivals and whatever (our message boards are loving all this) but I can't help but feel for them, anyone into sport in the city is getting it from all sides.

This came up at work earlier. A bit of an oldie but pretty good.

It was Sunderland in 1979, Villa in 1981. Who was it in 1980?

If you know it already then maybe spoiler your answer to not spoil it?

Brooking innit. For winning goals in the Cup Final or something?

In real time it wasn't a penalty for me either, the "bloke behind the line" got it spot on. On the slow-mos it looked blatant, but they're rarely representative of how it plays out in real time, plus the fact I don't think he was going to get anywhere near the ball had the keeper not killed him.

[edit]

Posted before reading the "does it matter about not getting near the ball" comments. It probably shouldn't, but keeping consistent in decisions throughout the game is better, which I think this did.

If you push someone over off the ball, it's a foul. There's a local referee down where I live called George Thomas and he's mental. I was off the pitch once as I'd passed it up the line and ended up running off the pitch. My opponent toe punted me into a pile of bags and balls on the sideline and when I complained to George that I'd been fouled a good two seconds after I'd passed the ball, he told me that I was off the pitch so it wasn't a foul.

Barcelona seem to be getting a bit frustrated so I'm expecting theatrics very soon.

As much as I dislike agreeing with anything anyone associated with ITV Sport says.. just what does that official behind the line actually do?

I think I remember hearing that its up to the refs to ask their opinion - they don't just flag stuff like linesmen do.

Never a penalty for me.
