Just horrible about Muamba. Meant to watch it but didn't. Kind of glad now. Ten minutes trying I resuscitate him? Sounds ominous, just horrible.

Perspective eh?

In many leagues, they have mandatory heart screening, usually because something like this happened. I obviously don't know if what happened to Muamba might have been prevented, but it's something the FA need to look into. What an awful thing to happen.

After Puerta's death the Spanish FA bought in regular and mandatory heart screening and every professional club must have a defibrillator next to the pitch. I think the defibrillator situation is the same in the UK now, but I might be wrong about that.

I'd be quite surprised if Premiership teams didn't include heart screening as part of their medicals; and there was talk of a defibrillator being used (again, they're not expensive - and there's always a chance someone in the crowd would need one, let alone people on the pitch).

Horrible news, I am feeling a bit numb and I was listening rather than watching as on my way to work.

Really hope he pulls through but doesn't sound good, spurs fans are saying he was worked on both on the pitch and as was being carried off - CPR and defib and for quite a long time, it really doesn't look good :(

As I said, I didn't actually hear it myself, it's just word of mouth.

Wasn't being curt with you, just saying that I hadn't heard them say anything on Five Live. Really feel for his family :(

I don't think it sounds good, personally. We've heard absolutely nothing... surely if there was news, even "he's in a grave condition" we would've heard it by now?

Thats been my biggest concern. With how instant news is now, the fact nothing has been said for over an hour is got me fearing the worst :(

Even just the 15 minutes without breathing is dangerous enough, at best the lad's probably not going to play again but I think under the circumstances no one would be particularly bothered by that right now.
