I absolutely hate Chelsea with a passion, but fair play to them, that's a fantastic turnaround.

However, hopefully the team will now at least admit that every manager they have has to be approved by them, otherwise they simply won't play for him.

And the Queen sanctioned the murder of Princess Di, right?

What are you suggesting? The players purposefully threw games to get Villas Boas out? Nothing to do with the high line played with slow defenders or poor team selection or other bad calls by AVB.

I'm saying that Drogba, Terry, Lampard, in fact the whole team, did not once give the same level of commitment to AVB, that they did last night. They didn't like how he had them playing, or his team selections, so they sulked and didn't play. It wouldn't be the first time players have successfully got rid of a manager. In fact, it wouldn't be the first time for this Chelsea side.

So they put their reputations and careers at risk to get him out? They played well last night because the system suited them much better. It was essentially get it to the wings and get cross after cross in. You're saying that they'd stand in front of thousands of Chelsea fans and not try as hard because they didn't like their manager? Really?

Like I said, it wouldn't be the first time it's happened. The effort from all the players was far and away higher than at any other point this season from what I have seen. It's not a revelation, nor is it a contraversial statement, to say that that players sometimes don't give 100% for a incoming manager who is at odds with the rest of the team. You have a lots of firmly established long term playing staff at Chelsea.

To flip it back to you, are you saying that the players Chelsea have are not good enough to play the "AVB" way that proved so successful for him in the past?

It's not about overall quality, it's about the specific qualities needed to play a certain style. Tonight Chelsea proved that while they can only manage a pretty poor impression of Porto, they are still quite good at simply being Chelsea.

I'm absolutely saying that. Chelsea are one of the poorest matches in the league for how AVB had Porto playing, and it transcribed terribly. If it wasn't for Mata, the first player of his type they've had in years, they could be 10th right now.

How would you explain Sturridge's brilliant first half of the season, or Cech's poor start followed by him picking up? Or Lampard's consistently good performances after coming on as a substitute, when he was no doubt upset about being left out? What you're saying just doesn't make any sense.

The players who hold all the power at Chelsea and seemingly refuse to accept that the club has to transition to a squad without them are unable to accept/play to AVB's methods. The end of this season will end up more or less the same as Grant's probably where the players more or less ran things. They will probably do ok with that as well but the rebuilding then has to start again and exactly the same problems will rear their head.

Drogba going to China in the summer will weaken the player power base. Although EBJT and Lamps will stay there until they put a statue of them in front of the entrance.

(That "JT: Captain. Leader. Legend" is possibly the most cringeworthy banner in the Premier League. And what was "London is Ours" about last night?)

Not to you, obviously. It does to me. To be honest, I don't care enough about Chelsea (i.e. not at all) to get into a circular debate about it.
