I think Spurs have lost form because Bale and Modric haven't been quite as good as they were at the beginning of the season. I have no idea why they bought Saha when Jelavic was available. Poor old Harry was a bit miffed on MOTD. Looking at the stats for the game, Spurs should have won 4 or 5-1.

Why have Tottenham been playing 2 up front when one has served them well all year?

I believe its called the keegan effect. it first showed its head in Newcastle back in 1996, symptoms are a good first half of the season playing 1 up front, doing really well and playing really well, then for some inexplicable reason when your in with a possible chance of being there or there abouts at the end of the season, You sign another striker in the first two months of the year change your system that has worked so well for you and then go into melt down.

its also seems to be prevalent in future England managers.

Oof. Kevin Thompson just took a pretty nasty boot to the head in the Boro vs Leeds match. Not intentional, but it was a proper whack. Let's hope he's alright - stretchered off in a neck brace.

We we brilliant first half, forcing them to bring on a striker who cost more than our stadium. Second half they pressured us more and we made mistakes, but what a glorious day and what a goal from Moore.. I think we are safe now, so let's by Siggi please Brendan.

It was incredibly idiotic really, particularly considering it was a part deal with Eto'o which valued Ibra at about £56m or something stupid. Inter of course then went on to knock Barca out of Europe the following season, which of course didn't really have anything to do with that transfer, but it still makes the whole thing seem extra silly.

The Ibrahimovic thing is interesting. I can't really remember seeing him play for them but I seem to recall they bought him for his height and supposed heading-ability, whereas in reality he's not that great in the air. Should have gone for Llorente. Or Grant Holt.

Because...Wenger dives?

Not really sure what your point is here.

Wenger has gained 78 penalties this season alone through play-acting in the opposition box. Sadly, due to his silly coat he has yet to convert one.

That Wenger's teams have possessed some of the worst offenders in diving and amateur dramatics, so its a bit rich coming from him

All teams have people who dive. I genuinely can't remember an Arsenal player doing anything quite as absurd as Suarez's "OH FUCK I THINK MY SHIN IS GOING TO FALL OFF" faux-agony after the incident in question, though.

Leaving your leg trailing to get some contact is one thing; pretending you're agonisingly injured afterwards, presumably in an attempt to coax a red card as well as a foul, is quite another. Let's be honest, it looked fucking ridiculous.

Has it really been the same since then? That surprises me. Guess I've been fooled by the pundit pillocks and their bias against foreign players

In the 70s, Francis Lee used to be known as Lee Won Pen. There is a clip of Billy Bremner (I think) getting into some sort of handbags session and pretending to dive all over the centre circle.

Edit: And England would never have beaten Cameroon in Italia 90 had Lineker not perfected the tumble and associated head flick in the box.
