Everton. Come on it wasn't hard to see where this was going. Scotch football isn't a real sport.

Yet it spawned the greatest managers English football has ever known. Go figure. Indeed, Sir Alex understands and values Smith's qualities so much that he made him Man United assistant a while back. It's true, Wolves would have been extremely lucky to get a man of his quality in.

I don't doubt it. What I'm getting at though, is has Pep Guardiola always spoken good English, or is it a more recent thing that's been working on, perhaps with a view to working in England (or even the USA) at some point?

I remember him speaking fluent English in his press conferences against Chelsea, which was during his first season as manager in 08-09. But it's pretty much an open secret that he has ambitions to manage abroad. Personally I put him as favourite to succeed Ferguson.

Thanks :) I would prefer to see him somewhere like Arsenal, but yeah, someone bringing that pure football and workrate philosophy to the Premier League could only be a good thing...

Mick agrees.

Given how much actual cash Mick's had to spend at Wolves, he's done quite well. I am positive he'll get another good job in the game. His press conferences are great.

I'm going to Plymouth vs Dagenham & Redbridge tomorrow. 89th vs 92nd in the football league. 108 goals conceded by both teams in 61 games. I am predicting a rain soaked 0-0 <_<

In other news, good to see Chris Samba's gone to Russia to achieve things http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17152566

Ker-ching.

He speaks perfect English:

I think this is about my favourite football interview of all time. I love the bit around 1:50 when the interviewer sighs and tries to compose himself again. Super fucking Sunday would be a thousand times better if people could carry on like this rather than the sanitised hot air we get now. Brilliant.

Good move by Blackburn I guess as he seemed to have gone on strike.

Save Blackburn from relegation and then get a probable move to a decently placed Prem club or go and play in Narnia for loads of money and potentially never do anthing of note in football again.

Asharvin has gone back to Russia as well.

Come on then everyone - predictions for tomorrow?

Can we cause a famous upset or get battered?

Will Suarez play up? Will the Gerrards square up? Will Bellamy do the ayatollah?

Despite going on the supporters club bus tomorrow at 9.30 from our ground which I live 10 mins walk from - I've somehow agreed to pick up all my mates first so will be playing taxi from

7.15.

Post match report late tomorrow night if we lose and Thursday week if we win.

If you seriously want to narrow the Gao between top and bottom, three changes would suffice.

1. Revert to splitting gate receipts between the home and away teams

2. Limit squad sizes to 22

3. Give the FA cup winners a club place

You don't need to cripple the top clubs. In fact you want more successful clubs to benefit from their success. Just not enough to destroy the competition, and not so that a few clubs can snap up all the talent.

Heh, if he keeps up the results and isn't Steve Bruce I'm happy

Nice win for Forest away to Birmingham today too. They've not lost at home all season, and we've been absolutely atrocious all season, so it didn't bode well, but Dexter Blackstock - the man, the legend - bags a brace. 13 months out injured, but he's back now. He's back.

Glad to see he is back. Never enjoy seeing a player stretchered off and that felt like a bad one when it happened in Cardiff.

Did it rain, oracle?

Nope. Neither goals or water.

It was probably the worst game of football I've seen since we drew 0-0 against Oxford United in a last game of the season when both teams needed a point to be safe... utterly devoid of anything of interest. We hit the post twice and even that didn't really raise a flutter of applause. Turgid stuff. 6 shots on target in the whole game for both teams - if you can call them shots. The fact nobody got booked tells the tale (apart from our sub goalie who got booked for catching the ball on the pitch as he was stood on the touchline). Rubbish game, rubbish referee, rubbish result and even the pasty van ran out of pasties. The only plus was we had 7,800 through the gate and a man fell over a railing heading the ball back when it went into the crowd.

Very good result. It was slightly annoying as i didn't feel when deserved to get beat, a draw would have been fair but that's just how football goes. I can't complain though, first defeat in fifteen!
