Rev: Sheffield Wednesday (But he moved to London and works about 2 miles from the Emirates so he adopted Arsenal as well as they're who he used to manage on Championship Manager and this is also helped by the fact Arsenal has the best team-thread on here)

It'd be a clumsy entry, I admit.

I love it when people say 'we' in this thread like we're supposed to keep a database of who everyone supports.

I don't like saying 'we' when talking about my favourite team either (it isn't like I actually contribute anything to their success). But it feels so weird to type out the team name all the time especially when everyone else has already given in and just uses 'we'.

Maybe we should make a rule that forces everyone to post their favourite team at the top of every post.

Team: Spurs

Mood: Sassy

How did Wednesday get on at the weekend? :D

Speaking of which, I listened to Megson's post match interview. What an ingracious twunt. Not that that's news, of course!

Carlos Valderrama: Exeter City & Queens Park Rangers

Yeah, I feel stupid writing the name all the time. I subscribe to the 'run it up the flagpole every few relevant posts and hope the cat licks it up' school.

Huddersfield. So a combination of the above, not necessarily being important to the point I was making and just being.. Embarassed :(

Who'd have thought Team that can't play at home vs. Team that can't play away would be decided by a bit of luck from set-pieces. Sums up the Wednesday season fairly well really.

Megson is very much Megson. He's a bit of a dick (although he's quite funny some times), but he's done what you'd expect to Wednesday - made us a force to be reckoned with at home, got us defending a bit better, got us playing the sort of football Aston Villa are aspiring to. It's just the away form and losing concentration in the last ten minutes. If we could sort that out we'd be the top of the league by miles.

Will that mean Motherwell have a chance of going into the CL qualifers for 2012-13 season ??? (if positions stay the same)

Think only the SPL champions get into the Champions League qualifiers, 2nd and 3rd go into Europa League.

If Rangers are in administration they won't be allowed to enter any European competition, so I assume that whoever eventually finishes 3rd and 4th will go into the Europa.

I would imagine that the administrators would make it very much a goal to get them clear of administration before that deadline though - I forget what it is, but they've got a little while. The idea that they'd stay in admin and pass up the UEFA money seems unlikely if they can possibly avoid it.

I think the deadline is March 31st.

Well that made all the difference.

Actually, I've heard nothing from Celtic on any of this. On the one hand they must be pissing themselves, but on the other they're pretty much knacked long term should Rangers disappear altogether.

Given a substantial proportion of the respective fanbases appear to hate the other team more than they support their own, there has been a lot of glee around. That rangerstaxcase site, although well researched and written, doesn't try too hard to disguise its bias.

They've said they'd be fine, but I can't remember where I read it. This is more or less the same article though:

http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/scottish/celtic-play-down-knockon-effect-of-rangers-administration-16117614.html

I'm not entirely convinced I agree with them though.

It's just the away form and losing concentration in the last ten minutes. If we could sort that out we'd be the top of the league by miles.

If we could sort out our home form and the knack of constantly throwing leads away we'd be top of the league by miles. I don't think Charlton are particularly good considering how far in front they've been the entire season (they're certainly no Brighton or Southampton circa last season), it's just that everyone else is pretty shit in one way or another and whenever Charlton do happen to drop points everyone else slips up as well.

Top six all play each other in League 1 tonight, I'm fully expecting frustrating draws all round.

As there is now the possibility of the end of Rangers and subsequently the end of the SPL is this the time for scottish clubs to seriously look at winding up and refounding as clubs in the English league system?

It took AFC Wimbledon nine years to get into the League.

I know the Glasgow clubs fans might feel they should go straight into the EPL but frankly their teams are shit and evidently poorly run.

Anyone know much about clubs joining into the Football League at anything but the lowest level? The Welsh clubs joined in the 20s so I don't really know a great deal about how a team could go about being fast tracked into the system. I don't see a vote getting them into the EPL.

As ace as this is (SMDs and Jons are particularly apt) I feel sad I'm not on there. Particularly as I make a point of mentioning which team I support if I refer to them as "we", which I do sometimes. Sadface.

I do agree with the we thing though. I can remember most people, but a few I cant.

I don't think it'd be possible for a club to play in a league situated outside the country it's based in? Yeah there's a few exceptions (some Welsh clubs, Berwick Rangers) but that's what they are, exceptions (EDIT: historic exceptions, in a time before the English football league pyramid was formally created)? A newly-formed club based in Scotland wouldn't be allowed to play in the English pyramid system, surely?

EDIT: And even if we're talking about a club situated in England, I'm sure they can't be voted in any higher than where AFC Wimbledon started out.

Maybe we (as in the people who post in the thread) should start posting in the manner of club statements to avoid confusion, all 'Manchester United Football Club' and shit. I REALLY don't know why but hearing a club's full name read out all serious like has always amused me.

Bit of luck! Two superb free kicks.

JJ looks a decent player. Very strong and fast. Great finish for your goal.

I'm just glad we managed to finally score!
