Football Thread 2011/2012

We've been shocking all throughout the first half of this season. The last time we played such dour uneventful/no idea football was under Scolari.

None of us have any expectations for this season whatsoever and it seems to be universal in the stands.

I'm vaguely hoping for a longer FA cup run, I fully expect to get dispatched out of the CL at the next opportunity.

Just back from watching Exeter beat Sheffield Wednesday - hurray!

Catching up with today's events. Suarez and Daglish are an embarrassment to Liverpool. If Daglish had kept his gob shut and Suarez had just shaken Evra's hand, this bollocks would all be over now.

I hate to say it, but I am glad United beat them!

You're also getting over Bale, Modric, Assou-Ekotto and the Berbatov money.

Bale only cost us 7 or 8 mill and BAE was only 3.5 mill.

The fact is apart from getting the players we needed to stay up after Harry took over, we have not wasted no where near as much money as we did when Comolli was wasting shit loads on average players.

Downing and Henderson are great examples of players what are barely worth half of what you paid for them.

He was hardly a terrible signing. He has been a proven goal scorer everywhere he went so it looked like a good move when it happened. He wasn't a success at Spurs but he wasn't exactly an utter failure either seeing as his goals to games ratio was similar to your other strikers at the time. Plus didn't Spurs recoup their whole transfer fee when he went to Sunderland?

He was a terrible buy as we already had Berbertov, Defoe and Keane already at the club so the 16.5 mill would have far better of served being spent on someone else.

Liverpool were rubbish again - yet it just shows the dearth of quality in the league when they've out possessioned UTD at home, yet the Manc reds are still right up there.

At least we've got the Euros!

Of the four sites I checked (Soccernet, Skysportrs, Guardian and the BBC) only the BBC are reporting that Liverpool had more possession in the game. All the others list similar numbers in favour of Man Utd. 55% - 45%

The girlfriend just watch this video and she's impartial and thinks that it looks like both refused and didn't want to.

The video looks like he doesn't go full on in like he did with the other players and then only presents his hand after Suarez is closer to De Gea.

I agree with Fox thought, I'm really finding it hard to like Suarez anymore. I hated him in the WC, gave him the benefit of the doubt when he joined LFC but now it's really hard to like anything about him other han his footwork.

Suarez has an immense attitude problem and prodigous skills.

Frankly he would be better off in South America or Italy.

He is headed for being the most hated man in English football.

And the Evra incident is nothing. We are headed for something much worse. Inevitable given his attitude.
