On Neville's England team I think Jones will be ready in a few years but definitely not yet. Smalling has been United's best CB this season and i'd take him over Ferdinand any day of the week. I think he should go anyway as he'd a be a good utility CB/RB at worst.

When I first read, 'the FA had contacted the player to ask him to explain the comment', I did think they meant for a translation, which can be exclusively revealed now:

"Drug user, moi? Go give a man fellatio, you small homosexual. You appear to be a man that runs off his mouth without considering the consequences of your dialogue. If you see me, why don't you come over and attempt to physically impose yourself with violence. I'm in Manchester every week so why don't we arrange a convenient time and place?" He'd have put that, but Twitter's 140 character limit necessitates brevity.
