We aren't awful and we aren't great. No success we achieve is exciting because it's expected, and we aren't going to win a tournament while the current Spain team exists.

I'd say a few teams must be looking with a bit more belief at doing them at the Euros. Villa out with a leg break and Torres struggling for goals. That will put some pressure on them to find some goals. Their midfield is still scare the shit out you good though.

So...Redknapp cleared of tax evasion then: http://www.bbc.co.uk...ngland-16925280

The case against him was as flimsy as fuck. They are now reporting there was so little evidence against him,the whole case was almost thrown out of court.

I can't work out why more emphasis hasn't been put on the apparent fact that they spent around £8 million of our tax money to chase up this ridiculous (and seemingly frivolous) case against Mandaric and Redknapp for less than £200k of alleged tax evasion.

Even if victory was certain there's clearly something wrong with the system if they're the relative costs involved. When you consider the fact that they're both innocent it makes a complete mockery of everyone who played a part in bringing this case to court.

Just because they were found innocent it doesn't mean the CPS weren't right to conclude the case had a reasonable prospect of success. There's also more tax evasion procedures than getting the money back; you don't put thieves through the courts just so the victims can get their stuff back.

What makes lower league players any better? They are less skillful, less experienced and no better morally than players at the top level. They just aren't under the microscope because nobody cares what they get up to. The reason England players get such a bad rep compared to others is because they are the most famous players in our country, therefore the tabloids will expose anything and everything to give them a bad name.

But yeah I don't care much about our national team. We aren't awful and we aren't great. No success we achieve is exciting because it's expected, and we aren't going to win a tournament while the current Spain team exists.

I find the disruption to premier league when England play most annoying, i would much rather not have the international weeks where there is no perm league footy, my idea was to keep the perm league going and fill out a token England team with other players - they may well do better than the current lot but either way i don't particularly care.

Its sad but i lost any love of the national side years ago and its pretty weird as i wouldn't lose interest in Spurs if they were relegated etc.

How high, as a percentage do you think the 23 players that go off on England duty make up of the total that go on international duty? You'd be happy for fixtures to be played despite Modric, Gomes, Friedel, Kaboul, Assou-Ekottu, Van der Vaart, Adebayor et al being away?

Not entirely sure you've thought this through.

Hey did anyone see Gary Neville's England XI on Sky at the weekend? It was actually not completely retarded!

Hart; Walker, Jones, Smalling, Cole; Parker, Wilshere, Gerrard; Sturridge, Rooney, Chamberlain

The only thing I'd contest is Jones at centre-back, because he's looked dodgy as fuck whenever I've seen him there for Man Utd.

I like. Only issue is that Jones is not composed enough to play centre back internationally. Jagielka instead probably, or Cahill if he settles well at Chelsea. Baines and Richards should be in the squad at least. I would have Carrick instead of Gerrard also, and push Wilshere up. Carrick has never played that well for the international side though, but his club form has been terrific, so it's worth trying him out in the friendlies. He would help our possession, certainly. Of course It's very doubtful that all these players are going to be fit, but I think we'll should be able to put on a decent showing. I don't think Welbeck has shown enough to come to a tournament yet, maybe that will have changed by the end of the season. I think the main reason he has been involved was because there was a risk he would have chosen Ghana otherwise.

I kinda would. If teams lost their international stars for a few games a year it's a nice way to force them to play the youth prospects a bit.

You know as soon as Nev got the job the team would be

Amos; Jones, Smalling, Ferdinand, Fryers; Carrick, Cleverley, Tunnicliffe; Welbeck, Rooney, Young

Unless he can get Scholes out of retirement.

He's alright but certainly not international quality. I'd rather put someone in there who can actually pass a ball too.

His passing is fine, certainly up there with the other options we have. I imagine you think this because he plays right back a lot for United, which essentially means right winger a lot of the time, and he looks awkward in that role. This doesn't translate to his performances at centreback, where he brings the ball out very well.

So, Ravel Morrison showing footballers and Twitter continues to be a winning combo:

The former Manchester United midfielder Ravel Morrison has caused controversy after posting a homophobic threat on Twitter.

After being provoked on the networking site, West Ham United's January signing tweeted: "Crack head? Go suck out u little faggot your a guy that talks if u see me you try slap me I'm in manchester every week." The tweet was later deleted.

West Ham said the FA had contacted the player to ask him to explain the comment, a club statement reading: "Ravel and the club will cooperate fully with the FA's request and have until Monday evening to respond."

A spokesman for the Justin Campaign, which aims to tackle homophobia in football, said: "It's disappointing to hear that yet another professional footballer in England has used homophobic language."

The 19-year-old has seen his career blighted by a number of incidents including charges of witness intimidation and an altercation with his girlfriend.

Morrison had been hailed as the greatest youth talent to emerge at Old Trafford since Paul Scholes but joined the Hammers for a fee thought to be in the region of £1m, rising to £2m, on transfer deadline day after the manager Sir Alex Ferguson reportedly ran out of patience with his behaviour.
