It's fucking ridiculous and just insults people's intelligence, as well as their eyes. I mean we're looking at the fucking video at the same time Shearer is droning on, and as he says "Baird leaves his leg there and Johnson goes over it", we can fucking well see Baird pulling his leg out of the way at the last moment, and Johnson kicking out at Baird to ensure contact.

As pointed out, if he'd been a Johnny Foreigner the take would have been very different. Shame on these cunts for hounding Eduardo out of the country while falling over themselves to excuse every English player who leaps over for no reason.

They also ignored the later incident, where Johnson went down without any contact whatsoever. If the league won't punish players for diving, it would be nice for pundits to try and hold them to account, or at least suggest there should be some shame in the act.

Match of the Day as a format is just totally flawed. Why should I care what the pundits in the studio say? They've only watched the few minutes of highlights I've just seen so what possible insight can they offer? That they then pepper their analysis with such gems as 'it's quality that counts' and 'Swansea pass it about a bit don't they?' just adds insult to injury.

You could improve it immeasurably tomorrow just by sacking off Shearer and Lawro and having a presenter sit in a studio and converse remotely with the commentator who was actually at the game. That or just forego the pointless punditry and show us the highlights in stony silence.

Really? He was on the floor, not in the air, and was clearly in control of himself as he managed to withdraw his legs. It wasn't a tidy challenge by any means but never a red card for my money. Trying to ignore that he plays for Stoke here obv.

I was just being facetious, there's no way that was a red card. If you want to see a proper foul then check out Nolan's sending off today. That's one belm who'll never learn.

I've never seen a player cheat as much as that little cunt in that game.

It was pretty unsavoury, but I really don't understand why everyone got so excited about it. Over two legs Celtic weren't in the tie at all and the penalty made no difference whatsoever. Save for an absolute wonder strike they barely had an attack of note in 180 minutes. Just seemed like something else for the SFA to get their knickers in a bunch about.

Yeah that was a bad one. Not surprised to see Fat Sam defending it though. Almost as bad as that one he did on Anichebe a few years ago.

That Huth red card is bizarre.

I went to the Plymouth vs Southend game yesterday and there were four two footed challenges by Dickinson, Chadwick, Gilbert and Walton and only one of those was given as a foul and a yellow card was shown; two for each side so I'm not being biaised. The crowd were incensed. The first one was awful and if it was a challenge made in the Premier League, it would have been a straight red. There's no consistency at all.

Our game yesterday was the only game on in League 2 and hats off to the Southend fans who came from Essex - the weather was atrocious for them on their way back and some of their coaches slid off the road on the M25 - hope everyone was OK.

On racism - our singing end spent most of the second half chanting "Gypo" and "Where's your caravan" at the Southend player Bilel Mohsni

There was a thread on the main supporters forum yesterday after the game where people were defending it as "banter" and some were criticising the chanting as "racist" and one bloke had actually reported the incident to the police at the game (not sure if that's true but he had an incident number so it might be true). I thought it was childish and ignorant... football fans

Anyone who uses the word banter in any cOntext should be exiled to the Isle of Man.

Reading the forums this morning, someone has made a complaint to Kick It Out. Calling someone a "gypo" (and by someone I mean 500 fans chanting it at the bloke for a good 30 minutes) is just as bad as chanting "nigger", "paki", etc. etc. - sadly, the main mods on our main fan site seem to condone it as contextual and banter. Truly pathetic. Even my 63 year old Dad was appalled by it yesterday and he's not exactly the most PC bloke in the World.

Same with Sturridge in the FA Cup. No one uses the word dive against an Englishman.

...There's so much injustice in football every week it's just a farce, and you get worked up over it for nothing. I'm starting to wonder if it's even worth bothering with any more. Fans of any other sport don't have to put up with this shit.

I don't bother with fan forums any more. The level of ignorance to their own behaviour and the hypocrisy that goes on all the time on such places just turned me off of them.

Someone last night even claimed that John Barnes didn't mind people throwing bananas at him in the 1980s as it was "funny".

Chelsea vs Man Utd today at 4pm... my prediction is a 0-1 to Man Utd. They seem to have a habit of nicking very important points this season with the odd goal.

Poor Steven Gerrard, no one understand he has a rare bone related disability. It's called "Legsgofloppyonceimintheboxitus".

I suggest we all use this occassion to raise awareness for Legsgofloppyonceimintheboxitus, I'm sure there are many others like him who suffer from it and their lives are made all the worse by diving foreigners because on English people can be diagnosed with it.

Lower league refs are fucking terrible, they tend to give every little niggly foul outside the areas but constantly bottle out of the big decisions. We're a decent example of this at the moment since we've only had two penalties in the league in 16 months! Premiership refs get a lot of stick but if you ever happen to get one doing your game the difference in quality is plain to see.

We had one yesterday where Alan Smith went flying in and it looked for all the world like a red but he got away with a yellow. Being an ex-Leeds player he was obviously getting some shit from our fans so it's fair enough for him to give some back but apparently at one stage he was beating his chest and shouting "60k, 60k, 60k" (referring to the weekly wage he's receiving while he lords it up in League 1).. I once had an encounter with him when he was breaking through at Leeds, good to know he's still a classy guy.

I know, it's embarassing to feel somewhat a part of sometimes. Team forums are just hives of ignorance, intolerance and general idiocy but when you support a lower league team without much national media coverage (admittedly we've been doing alright that way recently) they're almost a necessary evil if you want to keep up with what's going on.
