I've tried to keep an open mind, but the new BBC Sport website is a fucking mess. Horrendous.

Horrible colour scheme, far too busy, and much of the content requires many more clicks/scrolling to find. They've also removed a bunch of useful features (notably last 6 results and the vidiprinter).

Worst of all, they've bought into the stupid capslock fad which makes everything ugly and difficult to read. I hope that goes out fashion as soon as possible before it ruins everything.

ESPN is free this weekend - and they've got Man City vs Fulham on at 5:30.

Just a heads up as I didn't realise myself until I saw the fixture list and then cross referenced with the ESPN schedule :)

RE: England captain. I mentioned last year that I thought Jo Hart was the man for it, Motto (barking as he is) also said this on Football Focus this morning.

Anyone else disagree? It just seems like a good choice to me. He's not an injury prone player and there's no one near him as a keeper who's English at the moment. He seems commanding and a decent guy. I don't see any reason why he shouldn't be installed as Captain, a position he could potentially hold for the next 2-3 World Cups [if we qualify!].

Awful/"good" dive from Johnson. Left his leg out after kicking the ball too far ahead of himself. Then was going down before he was clipped. Shocking.

Great pen mind.

Anyone else dislike the new BBC football page? I wish they let you turn off that big video section. Also, wheres the daily gossip and rumours page gone?

For function and form it works better I'd say.

However when viewing the Arsenal game (live) I couldn't see the goalscorers listed anywhere. Stats = possession, shots, etc, yet no scorers. That seemed like a rookie error.

Its bloody awful.

I always read through the Saturday Live page from the bottom up of an evening to find out how the Prem games unfolded. Its taken bloody ages to read through it tonight on my iphone since the redesign.

Blues v Southampton reminds me of a proper old school game from the 80s with non of this namby pamby undersoil heating bollocks.

Back when Thatcher was in power and football violence was at its height? You must miss those times debaser.

Its a wierd place the club is in now. Hopefully frank stays strong and can take the club forward.

Im actually really hopeful for arthur. He was villified by some elements, yet doughty always referred to him as his best signing. Maybe this will bring out the best in him and unify the fans behind him.

Though i think he'll walk

Worse Johnson steps up for an interview and lies about it.

J Pearce is an awful commentator. He made his name by being loud and little else. He can't do that on the Beeb.

Aguero is superb as Shearer says. Interesting to see how all the "Silva is the best player EVER" chat has died away. A few months ago it was all "He's been the best player for a year!"; yet hadn't been mentioned much before.

Ridic. His form was patchy last season as it has been this.

Aguero is consistently dangerous though; his touch, pace, power laid on the first goal [for Johnson to dive] - that burst down the right was exceptional and his coolness to cut inside and pick the right pass was vital.

Sod off Shearer, if Johnson was foreign he'd be villified by these so called pundits for diving

You only have to think back to Arsenal Vs Celtic in the champions league qualifier, where Eduardo was lambasted by the media and actually charged for alot less.

Yet again I'm reminded why I can't be arsed with the Premiership these days. I remember seeing Adam Johnson playing for Middlesbrough against us at Hillsborough a few seasons ago, that kid has tonnes of talent, yet just watching MotD now I see that he has to resort to pathetic diving tactics like that. All my respect for his considerable talent has just gone straight out the window, I can't really bear to watch any more of that.

I'm not suggesting that kind of thing doesn't happen in the lower leagues, but certainly not to the extent I'm consistently reminded about on the rare occasion I decide to watch a bit of 'elite' class football. I don't know how, as a fan, you can support those antics or form any kind of relationship with your players when they do things like that. We might play shit football with shit players (relatively speaking) but I can live with that when you have a real bond with the people on the pitch. Sometimes I have to wonder whether I'd rather we stayed in the lower divisions.

Still, I enjoyed watching Arsenal. They can stay.
