Me too. We've had the pretty, it can't get any better than it was at our peak. Right now we're terrible to watch IMO.

Just not true, despite being shorn of our most influential players this season (Fabregas, Nasri and Wilshere) we've still been involved in some absolutely cracking games and played beautiful football, possibly only Spurs have played better at times. Our inconstancy and defensive frailties is part of what makes us exciting - being three or four nil up and still concerned that you can lose rather keeps you on the edge of your seat. Doesn't do your blood pressure much good though.

Anyway, fuck Mourinho. Compare our performances against Barca with a tiny, injury strewn squad bought for bugger-all in footballing terms against Mourinhos Real, one of the most expensive teams ever assembled. Why anyone thinks Jose and his tiresome bluster would do any better with the same squad of players and with limited resources to improve that squad is beyond me. Besides, I don't think he'd ever take the job. Without pots of cash to compensate for his deficiencies as a manager he'd be terrified of being found out.

I can see the bottom falling out of football soon. The money is obscene, the behaviour is pathetic and I think fans will fall out of love with it sooner or later. I adore my football but sometimes I despair. I know that sounds dramatic and girlie but there you go.

You've got characters such as Tevez who can afford to lose £9m odd over a short period of time more or less cos he's a cunt and doesn't care, Redknapp saying how he paid a mill in tax last year, lost millions elsewhere blah dee blah and is obviously a liar. Racism, cheating. The list goes on. Quite how we're supposed to relate to these people in any way is beyond me.

Just to come back to this, I've been feeling the same lately. I've been following the league from abroad where you get a lot of your coverage after the matches and far too often the dominant headlines are not about the matches but all the sideshow and this season, it's just been poisonous.

This is probably a stretch too far but I did wonder if there it's maybe linked to things outside football being pretty grim. You go to see your team (or not, in many cases) and every team in the league bar City have taken steps backwards, struggled in easily predictable ways and everyone is just really, really fed up...

Is this the quietest transfer window ever? Last January was Torres-Carroll and a shite load of other deals. Maybe there is still going to be loads of business done in the time remeaining but all I can think of in the PL off the top of my head is the striker Newcastle signed for £10m, Cahill to Chelsea for £7m and Chelsea have also just signed Kevin De Bruyne from Genk for £7m. And then loaned him back to them. Is this the first real Financial Fair Play transfer window? Are clubs actually going to fall into line?

Or is it just because Harry is in court and too busy to give Sky Sports News an interview through his car window?

Legend. I'd love to see some of the goals he scored for us, about the only footage I've seen is

and it's not up to much (although it's worth watching to LOL at the state of the pitch).

Worthington came close to signing for Liverpool in 1972 only to fail the medical due to high blood pressure. Bill Shankly gave him a second chance, though, and told him to go on holiday, relax and come back a fortnight later refreshed. Worthington did as he was told, only in his case 'relaxing' involved going to Majorca and spending the two weeks clubbing with a Belgian girl he met on his travels. By the time he returned his blood pressure was even higher than before and the deal was scrapped.

I continue to be amazed that managers are willing to sign Wayne Bridge. I suppose if anyone is going to get anything out of him it would probably be O'Neill but surely there must be more promising players out there?

Thinking back on O'Niells career I can't recall many, if any at all, promosing youth type buys. He tends to bring some through in his teams, but his purchases tend to be experienced players from what I can think of.

Quite pleased with Zamora, less so with Cisse, but we definitely needed to add players up front. Sounds like Taarabt is ready to give it his best, Taiwo from Milan is supposedly pretty good, Onuhua is good cover and Diakite will be a good replacment for Faulin as he is out for the season.

At least we are giving it a go.

The Jelavic to Everton deal seems exceptional business if they can offload Saha to Spurs too. I'm very surprised he's not gone to a bigger side in the Premier League as he does seem to be very suited to a "British game" in the matches I've seen him play in for Rangers.

I'm delighted as a Plymouth Argyle fan as we got some unknown idiots on loan to play up-front - we already have four of those. One's from Preston North End. Huzaaaaah!
