If it's not Stoke, it's Man City.

You're starting to sound like me at FIFA. Every win deserved, every defeat a travesty.

So Man City would be top without all their money then?

I was at that stadium not so long ago where the ground was no where near full and Reading beat them 2-0.

Yes I am very bitter but the fact is without their new Arab owners they would still be struggling in mid table.

You're stating the bloody obvious Charlie. Course their new found wealth has helped, it's hardly rocket science.

The bigger question is why do you always come in this thread, whenever Tottenham lose and throw your toys out the pram? It's quite embarrassing.

To me it looks too forceful to just be a case of him trying to regain his balance.

I don't know at what poInt during those three seconds of him flailing about unbalanced he thought "right, I can stamp on him now"

It just didnt seem like the case.

Welcome to football.

It's the same in every league. You might get one team that seems to be doing well with low wages but the moment the transfer window opens, they're picked apart.

Arsenal are toothless. Van Persie is getting no real support, and their most dangerous player going forward seems to be Oxy-C.

What's really striking about them is their slow transition from defence to attack. Their best move was almost Arsenal of old - quick break out of defence, one touch football then flicked wide.

Aside from that they've been pretty dire, Utd always looked like scoring and so far there's no way back for Arsenal unless they make a massive shake up at half time.

I can't believe a Spurs fan is moaning about money. Ridiculous.

You can bitch and moan about money yet why would players come to you over City when they've got champions league football and you haven't?

Fact is you have money, had money for getting into the UCL last season and STILL finished below Arsenal. That's your teams fault, don't start blaming anyone else. Unless Arsenal spent loads more than you of latey, so not fair that they finished 6 points ahead of you last season.

Give us a break and suck it up.

Yep, great goal and they could easily win this if they keep going.

I still fancy UTD. Purely because they've been sitting back a bit slightly for the last ten mins. Arsenal will have to sustain a bombardment now I fancy. Sets it up nicely!

I think Arshavin will get a lot of stick for the UTD second - but it's pretty unfair IMO. Valencia is a handful for any full back let alone a player who can't defend. Why did the whole of the Arsenal defence fall back into the penalty area and leave Valencia 1 on 1 with the Russian? With tricky wingers you double up; basic football knowledge. The full back should have closed down Valencia earlier, and the goal wouldn't have come then.

Aye, Vermaelen does deserve criticism for that goal as well. He was nowhere. He's been pretty shit at left-back to be honest but gets a free pass because it's not his position and everyone loves him when he plays centre half.

None of that changes Arshavin's pathetic non-effort to stop Valencia though.

I can't see RVP staying at Arsenal much longer.

They are clearly a team in decline, with the manager seemingly refusing to spend money and strengthen.

They've got away with if for the last few years, but now City and Spurs are starting to compete I can't see them getting into the CL places.

Mate, please don't trot out the 'Wenger refuses to spend money' stuff. It's rubbish. The club is owned by two billionaires who are locked in a seemingly perpetual deadlock over full control, and neither will invest any money until the other one fucks off. Plus where are the players to buy in January?

We've also made mistakes by trying to implement a weird Marx-ist wage structure, and consequently have a load of shit players we want to offload but can't because no one will match their wages.

If anyone cares, here's some stuff on Arsenal's finances: http://angryofislington.com/2012/01/19/arsenals-finances-the-plain-truth/
