Comolli is the one that is ultimately responsible for the club's transfer policy, and you assume he was much more directly involved with the negotiations than Dalglish. £35m for Carroll was always a joke. A good director of football would recognise that was not good value for money, and that the money could be better invested elsewhere to help the long term health of the squad. I don't know what pressure he was under, maybe Dalglish insisted upon it, but if that is the case then what is he at the club for? He should've walked away from it.

What? 2-2? Bloody hell.

Don't forget it was Comolli who wasted £16 million on Bentley while at Spurs and just about the same on Darren Bent when Spurs already had 3 decent strikers at the club.

Balotelli was lucky. Should have been sent off for his foul on Parker.

I initially thought he was bringing his leg down in order to keep his balance. They may not have seen enough of the incident, but none of the Spurs players seemed to upset with Balotelli either.

The motion looked like a stamp, but I don't see how he could have known where Parker was. He didn't look at him at any point.

Aye, he only saw him after and looked a bit scared.

Ledley's not made a mistake in years, don't know what he was thinking there he was never getting the ball.

It looked to me like he was just off balance and in the process of falling over to be honest. We'll never know if he tried to stamp on him but it didn't look it to me. Nowhere near the realm of indefensible stamps such as Karl Henry's yesterday.
