I know it was a joke displaying the average level of humour form a Blackburn fan. I just object to being dragged into something when I'm just sitting in a corner trying to enjoy a quiet pint.

TBH, the Venkys situation isn't funny. If Venkys were mere incompetents then it would be, but they appear to be incompetents surrounded by vultures and that is a dangerous combination. Burnley rather famously almost went bust and have hovered on the brink a few times since. Clubs around us have been bust and some have not come back. Just because they are our nearest and dearest doesn't mean that in this case we can sit back and laugh heartily.

God knows I could have come in here just about every week and commented on the latest bit of fun and games. There has been more than enough ammunition, Venkys, Kean, drink-driving, Bolton at home, plane protests, pompous statements, marches that wouldn't have filled a taxi, empty away ends. I figured the last thing a Blackburn fan wanted right now was a Claret coming in week in, week out and ripping the piss. Fun as it may have been, it really would have been like kicking a puppy.

So unless Blackburn fans really want somewhere else regularly showing their club to be a laughing stock, I'll stay up here on the moral high ground thanks.

What do Spurs fans make of Livermore?

Parker's last game before injury and spurs draw. Livermore comes in and it's 3 straight wins. Parker is back, Livermore is dropped and they fail to beat Wolves at home.

He's got to be pissed at that - does he offer more than Parker?

Livermore's got plenty of potential, but Parker coming back had nothing to do with us drawing yesterday.

Fair play to the Jacks - a cracking season so far.

Sounds like Ramsey had a bit of mare - ironic when he had such a good game in one of Swansea's two losses at home in the last 12 months.

Yes, I am pathetically mentioning what was probably the last time Swansea had a properly crap week.

"Dalglish has taken Liverpool as far as he can take them" - a mental patient just now on 606.

It's funny how half a season can change so much. That same person was probably convinced Liverpool were in line for the treble after the way the side, under Kenny, ended last season. How the fuck can you even make such a statement when he's hardly been there at all?

When did football fans stop desiring stability? It feels like they want a new manager every time they lose. That's a lot of new managers every season which won't even start to address whatever the real problems are. I'm pretty sure that Alex Ferguson is the only manager in the country that hasn't had to suffer this shit, though that could be because United have not endured a truly bad run of form for quite some time. I wonder how long it'd take some fans to turn on him if they lost a few more games.

Was a lovely bit of play from him last night to set up Remy for marseille's first against Lille. Marseille get better each time I se them this year. French league is really interesting this year, PSG the front runners due to amazing home form but they aren't the most stable of clubs, and I can see them imploding spectacularly. Would be lovely to see Montpellier win it, but a lot depends on them hanging onto Giroud.

Just watching MOTD 2 - villas ground seemed to have loads of empty seats. McLeish will surely be sent packing at the end of the season.

Yeah, the crowd was about 31k - McLeish's anti-football is turning people away in droves and the overwhelming emotion on the blogs is simply apathy. So many people just can't bring themselves to give a shit right now, after the (relatively) good times under O'Neill. Having McLeish thrust upon us just seems like a massive fucking insult. I think most fans accept we're mid-table at best now, but it's painful knowing there's almost no prospect of being entertained in any way by the current side.

Indeed. It will be interesting to see what season ticket numbers are like next season if McLeish is still in charge. We had been selling 28,000 season tickets regularly under O'Neill, this season we sold 20,000 and I can see that falling further. The football is just dreadful, and its not like we are getting results with it either. Average home attendance is down from 40,000 for the past three or four years to 34k this year (which implies that the walk up gate has risen, though most of that will be ex season ticket holders picking and choosing individual games) and a huge part of that is down to McLeish. Villa fans seem to be taking the opposite route to Blackburn fans and voting with their wallets rather than bombarding the manager with abuse. If you look at our home form, four defeats and a draw in our last five league games and we have to be QPR in our next home game to avoid going three calendar months without a win at Villa Park then real abuse directed at the manager might not be far away.

I think we have failed to score in six of our last ten league games, and our next few fixtures are hardly easy. Local derby away at Wolves, then Arsenal away, a must win game at home to QPR before Newcastle away and Manchester City at home. How many points will we get from that run of games? Not many probably.
