I think it's about time we started speculating on who will replace Hughes once he gets sacked in June.

By that time I'm going to say Claudio Ranieri!

Rightly so. He's innocent, two of his grandparents are women.

The woman smashed her face into his fist, he claims. It's actually believable, as he rarely gets anything on target.

Indeed. I feel a bit for Warnock, to be honest and I'm not sure I'm that keen on the idea of Hughes.

I feel sorry for Warnock and grateful for what he's done for us. He's never received anything like the credit he deserves for what has been, in my opinion, one of the managerial achievements of the last few years: taking us from relegation fodder to the top of the Championship with basically no transfer budget whatsoever. Instead he gets called Colin Wanker for being one of the ownly managers who's worth listening to in the press, and all the while the myth that we bought the league goes unchallenged.

That said I haven't agreed with all of his decisions this season, and I do think some of his shortcomings as a top-flight manager have been exposed at times - as basically I think he believes far too much in the 'tryers' in the squad (Mackie, Derry, Helguson), and not nearly enough in the flair players (Buzsaky, Taarabt, Bothroyd). Ulitmately I believe in both Bhatia and Fernandes as owners, and at the end of the day if someone like Hughes comes in and manages to bring some decent signings with him that keep us up no one will be complaining. I also expect whoever comes in will be given a fair crack of the whip; the days of Flavio Briatore coming down to the changing room at half time for a word in Jim Magilton's ear are long gone. Thank fuck.

The four scrolling pictures of Warnock on the BBC Football home page are amazing.

 he always looks like he's in the middle of a monumentally giant shit

Agree with all of that. I'm just not sure if I want a manager like Hughes who is not renowned for his loyalty.

Maybe we can get De Canio back?

I'd welcome Luigi back with open-arms... Possibly worth pointing out though that Hughes has previously worked with pretty much everyone we've been linked with up til now with Onuoha at City; Samba and Hoilett at Blackburn; and Johnson and Zamora at Fulham. Probably not a coincidence.

Edit: Skybet has Maradona at 50/1

Benitez (8/1) would be my choice if he'd come to us... But something tells me Hughes is a done deal.

I was at this game and sat above the away support. Didn't hear any racism but there were quite a few Shrewsbury fans who spent more time trying to call people out in the upper tiers than actually watching the game. You get that at nearly any game mind.

For the Family Supporters of the Year (or some weird award), they were noisier then than anytime I've seen them before, and myself too if I'm honest. But yeah, you probably saw me then - we could only really see the first row or two of people on your tier.

I'm 99% certain I've seen that exact guy in the queue for the bar at half time. At the very least, someone like him: I remembering standing behind a guy who was with two other people. He bought three pies, and when the girl behind the bar asked if they needed a bag for them, he said 'Nah it's alright, I'll just eat them now'.

I'm sorry to see Warnock go. His status as QPR Legend is assured however. He got us up, when I don't think anyone, QPR supporters included, thought we could mount a serious challenge for at least another couple of seasons.

That said, we have been found out in the premiership. You could aregue we have been unlucky on a few occasions, but we simply havent been good enough. Especially with a team, which on paper, should be good enough.

Persoanlly I wouldn;t mind Hughes. He has experience, he is a premiership manager. He's never going to set the world alight, but he is a pretty safe bet in terms of steadying the ship. Now is not the time to take a risk with foreign or up and coming manager. Lets just stay in the prem.

Oh, and thank god the Board decided to do it at the beginning of the month and not two days before the transfer window closes.
