Why do people keep bringing this up? For God's sake. Who are these people who think what goes on in any other country determines a national of that country's liability for breaking a law in this country? You can say that you didn't realise X was unacceptable in this country*, but you can't say that because it's acceptable in your home country it should be acceptable for you to do it here too.

If someone wants to call Brazilians "little monkeys" and shout "negro" to passers by, they can go to Uruguay and do it there where everyone keeps telling me it's perfectly normal and acceptable.

*Not that ignorance is a defence in itself anyway.

The point is that it's not acceptable. They do it to wind up the Brazilian players.

For me Suarez's defence is simply a load of boswollocks.

Didn't you post that 'This Is Klanfield' shit too?

1. That was a Man U fan; that post got massively possed by the football thread populace. They've spoken and that was what people seem to genuinely think. (look to your own enlightened fans)

2. I posted a similar picture to see the reaction. More posses! It seems the way to posses is to claim racism/give it a LOLerpool.

3. It is "just banter appropriate to the thread", apparently - so its fine.

I'm just surprised people get so upset when others give an alternate point of view. Perhaps taking a step back and calming down would help?

Never have I said racism, in any form, is acceptable. That is clear. Sure the club should have, in hindsight, handled things differently - yet they believed their player and made the apparent mistake of standing by him.

The worse thing about the whole incident is that no one has come out of this well. People spew hate at Suarez, now at Liverpool and Kenny effectively calling both racists, and Evra is also getting a hammering. Ferguson has also come in for criticism too, albeit from fervent Liverpool fans.

All that's happened is that it's generated a big cycle of hate and that's the tradegy here.

What I would have liked to have seen from Chelsea, Man Utd and Liverpool was a single statement, stating something like:

"Until the FA/police have concluded their investigations, that the club will not comment on the matter. Our club does not tolerate racism, sexism or homophobia from its staff or fans, and as such, if our player is proven guilty of the alleged offence he will not play for the club again."

But I also want the moon on a stick...

The only people "hammering" Evra are the liverpool supporters.

Disclaimer: I'm not a Utd supporter, I follow Everton. Go to town on that.

If the Daily Mail are all Liverpool supporters then, considering their article on Evra and their attempt to keep it in the news cycle.

We've even had non-Liverpool fans on here calling Evra a knob; despite them being correct on that it doesn't change the fact that it's all continued to be mud slinging.

Daily Mail in being on the side of 'racist abuse' shocker?

That would have been ideal, yet because they are businesses and have invested in a player like Terry/Suarez that wasn't going to happen.

And what's worse is that if it was someone like a youth/reserve player who the club didn't need/had invested in he'd probably be out the door in seconds.

That's the way of the world though - it comes down to money/talent and if someone is good enough then theyll be kept on and/or the organisation will try to find a way around it if they can.

It's not right it's just the way it is.

Hahahah bringing the daily mail out as an example of justice is brilliant, who next the BNP?

I don't think there is much doubt Evra is a knob but not really relevant is it.

Anyway, Cheltenham today in the cup - should be a nice easy win but this is Spurs after all!!!

The issue is that they've dug up old evidence involving Evra and have kept the whole thing spinning.

It doesn't matter as much who did it rather that it's been kept in the news and has inflamed things all the more.

But Rhodes is good, it's definitely when rather than if he leaves Huddersfield now. Personally I think he'll go this window and be loaned straight back to them.

More likely than a straight-up move, but even if someone happens to meet our valuation I'm not sure whether they'd consider it a good idea to let their investment play another five months getting shite kicked out of him by League 1 cloggers twice a week. I don't think I would in that position.

Last season our star man (Anthony Pilkington who's now at Norwich) suffered a horrific career-threatening leg break in March so these things do happen unfortunately.

Exeter win and Plymouth lose. A good day! :D

I mean this in the politest of terms

suck my cock :)

The FA Cup game I watched today was Birmingham vs Wolves. A drab 0-0 draw with absolutely nothing happening for 90 minutes played in front of a half full St Andrews. It was awful.

In the running theme of racism at football matches, some of the travelling Plymouth contingent apparently spent most of the match against Crewe today spouting off EDL chants. Absolutely brilliant - you shameful bunch of arseholes.

Congratulations to Stevenage today - great result for them. I think they've won more points than any other side, other than Man Utd, since the beginning of 2010. Being a Stevenage fan at the moment must be pretty sweet.

How are you feeling about Argyle at th moment? Do you think you have enough to stay in the league?

In my head, no. I'd say unless we sign four or five experienced players and stop relying upon teenage loanees from the Championship, we're doomed. However, our recent form over the last six or seven points towards mid table survival. We need to start winning games at home to get bums on seats and to get some confidence into the side. I felt sorry for both Torquay and Exeter when they went into non-league and I honestly want all Devonian clubs to do well; we're in the wilderness down here as it is without the local sport teams struggling.

How do people feel the Derby will go tomorrow?

I have a feeling that without Yaya Toure City might, just, could, come unstuck. And if that happens and Utd turn them over...perhaps it could be a re-run of what they did to Arsenal all those years ago.

Okay so it's earlier in the season yet it might just happen. I think Utd might edge it!
