That's literally the worst subject-change anyone has ever attempted in the history of conversation.

You mean the subject change where by something was clearly was going on with Rooney?

It was an observation, something that has happened in the past and something that was obviously happening. Again.

Others were also "Oh no he's alright" yet it has been pretty obvious that something was going down. Ferguson has probably realised, at long last, the Rooney can't be trusted and is a liability.

Rooney is a liability for any club and worse for England. I'd love to see us move on and drop him. Some may say "We've not got anyone else" yet better that than persist with him.

So guys are we not going to talk about Rooney still, or is it okay because I didn't bring it up? :coffee:

City. Chelsea. PSG. Anzhi. Real Madrid. Barcelona. Malaga. All could afford and probably want him.

I'm guessing Rooney might not be that keen on PSG, Anzhi, or Malaga.

Of the others, I'm not sure he'd be a good fit at Barcelona.

Would he go to City? I guess he might although it would be a very unpopular move.

I can't remember whether Mourinho has shown interest in Rooney previously?

I could definitely see him at city but there'd be a massive premium, obv. Not that it'd be an issue to the Saudis.

If you ignore the fact he's a petulant child lots of the time, he'd be amazing at Barcelona. He'd be fantastic at what Fabregas is doing - essentially the central stripe from the halfway line to the goal. Barce want/need players who want to play in every position - start them in their actual position and tell them to go with it.

Malaga are outside bets, but they can probably pay him enough. Anzhi and PSG are probably more likely - definitely afford him, almost certain to be able to offer Champion's League football. Not sure I can imagine Colleen in Russia though. Mourinho said in a roundabout way he wanted Rooney last time this happened:

I think it'd do Rooney/English football a massive favour if he went abroad. The fact that English players rarely spread to other leagues really holds things back I think, we don't get any different experience coming into the England team, aside from the manager. Here's a trivia question I don't know the answer to:

Who was the last England player whose name wasn't Beckham to get capped while playing abroad?

I'd guess Carson?

But apart from that, it's not a long list. Go back to 1990/1992 and a few were. We did better then.

Regardless of Chelsea wanting to sell why would Frank "Chelsea till I die" Lampard make such a switch. He wouldn't as he's an honourable guy who sticks to his word, so the whole thing is a non starter.

To get his gf away from EBJT?

I was wondering if Joe Cole might be the next but it doesn't look as though Capello fancies him.

It'll be harsh if he doesn't get a friendly spot, but I can't see him getting into a proper squad any time soon.

Rooney said he was leaving before and changed his mind.

It's not easy to believe a guy who's cheated and lies most of the time. Still, he fits in at Man U pretty well.

That's cool. Players never leave when they've said they're staying, so we can rule out any speculation now.

I could see him going in the summer. I didn't post it as "it's ok lads he's deffo staying" but a direct denial of the story is the best you are going to get.

That's the Independent banned from all Man Utd press conferences then.

This was my thinking but Honigstein has tweeted that it could all be a play by SAF to put pressure on Rooney. Seems farfetched but he's the person to know.

Eh, Fabregas never said anything like that in the summer he left.

I know, I wasn't really serious.

Honiegstein's tweets are interesting, but just speculation. We'll all have to wait to read the story.

Agreed, Jordan Rhodes really is on fire! What do you all think, will he still remain a huddersfield player at the end of the transfer window?

Oh, Amit, you tease.

Haha, unless someone offers absolutely crazy money Rhodes won't be going anywhere this month. The worst moment in my time supporting Town was when we sold Marcus Stewart in the middle of our challenge to get in the Premiership. Our chairman has stated how much that pained him when he was just watching as a fan and he's promised on numerous occasions that a mistake like that won't be made again. We've been a one-man team recently so it'd be suicide. Plus he's a settled, modest lad so I'd be very surprised if he demanded a move.

In the summer I imagine he'll be gone though, even if we happen to go up.

Some are saying it was 'Manc bastard', others 'black bastard'. I'm not sure which would be more stupid given he's not from Manchester.

I'm guessing Rooney might not be that keen on Malaga.

A fuck-ton of cash, almost constant sunshine, beaches, rows of cafes serving huge portions of Fry-Ups, bars full of English speaking women totally pissed up looking for anyone who'll buy them more vodka jellies and coaches of doddering old women just hitting their menopause looking for a cheeky leg-trembler?

Think he might be interested.

I guess staying in Manchester makes sense for the aftercare on the new hair!

I seem to remember during last years "Rooney to leave Man Utd" soap opera the same kind of debates were happening, ie, who could afford him and where he would be happy to play. There was a story going around pointing out that Coleen's sister, Rosie, has Rett Syndrome which means she is seriously disabled and is only expected to live into her mid 20s. She had a stroke about 18 months ago although there has been nothing in the news about her health since.

Considering that, Coleen is unlikely to want to leave the North West, is she? If her sister only has ten years left then will Coleen want to spend three of them living in Paris or Madrid? If she stays in England will Rooney want to move out on his own? I'm not so sure. I think it is really only Man City or possibly Chelsea who are in a position to sign him.

Or the Villa could take him on loan, obviously. :coffee:

To be fair it's culturally acceptable to be racist at Anfield.

LOLZ! Hilarious. What a piece of work you are. Typical of your group of supporters? I'd hope not, they've got to be better than that.
