Rather, he's not contributing to the team at all. Which he's done in the past despite not scoring.

You'd say that someone like Suarez does contribute, and makes them a better team, despite only 5 league goals.

But hey. Feel free to look at the basic stats and not performances or go deeper than that, if thats all you are able.

He didn't start the previous two games. Before those games, he scored a fine goal against Fulham and the opening goal against QPR. Two goals in his last three really doesn't amount to a loss of form. It's hardly Andy-£35m-Carroll levels of woe.

Speaking of which, I still love how Liverpool fans deceive themselves into thinking that they effectively got Carroll "for free", just because they used the Torres money on him. I might as well say that all the players United have bought in the last couple of years have been acquired "for free" because of Ronaldo's £80m transfer.

What are the rules surrounding the possibility of Man City recalling Adebayor?

Seems like it would be a good move for them. Get a back up (or replacement) for Dzeko and instantly put a stop to Spurs' title aspirations.

Really? I never heard that one before from any L'pool fan.

Bit dickish to be putting prices between players' first and last names, too.

The Premier League in 'actually quite interesting this year' shock!

Great to see Newcastle beat Man United last night and it's an amazing turnaround by Mike Ashley and Pardew, despite the stick from the fans.

I can't decide if I want Blackburn to go down to stick it to the idiot fans that are so venomously attacking Kean or for them to stay up, to stick it to the idiot fans that are so venomously attacking Kean.

Those idiot Blackburn fans should be forced to support Burnley for a year as punishment.

Disciple, none of these diversionary things you keep mentioning detract in any way from what Suarez did. They are irrelevant.

Where did I say that? Hardly diversionary as this is quite an interesting part of the story.

Indeed Evra said this was a word he didn't like, yet there he was using it.

Pots, kettles, the kitchen sink.

Which was what, exactly? Having read the report, I'm still not sure.

Evra did call Suarez "South American" in a way that was clearly meant to offend. Seems that he is allowed to be derogatory and insulting all he likes.

It's not quite for free, but it's not exactly like the inflated £35m fee was available for us to spend on something else (which the Ronaldo money would be, if it wasn't for Glazernomics). We said Torres = Carroll + £15m. For some reason there wasn't the time or inclination or possibility to have some other player lined up in case Mike Ashley played hardball with Abramovich. If the Carroll deal hadn't been done, we'd have had a disaffected Torres and no money.

The only thing that matters to us as far as the inflated fee is concerned, is that the amortisation of that fee goes into our Financial Fair Play calculations. Otherwise it would be irrelevant to us if Carroll cost £1m or £100m. Although presumably Carroll got himself a good deal in terms of wages for a player of his experience, and that's not great for us if he continues to be sub-par.

Yeah they had like 12 experts look at all the footage. Came to conclusion Suarez used 'negro' seven times and Evra did not say anything towards race. I think he mentioned something about Suarez's sister.

Mr Evra stated that the goalmouth incident started when he addressed Mr Suarez,

beginning with the phrase "Concha de tu hermana". According to the experts, the literal

translation is "your sister's cunt" and it can be taken as a general swear word expressing

anger, although the word "concha" is not as taboo as the English word "cunt". It is thus

equivalent to "fucking hell" or "fuck me". If directed at someone in particular, it can also be

understood as "[you] son of a bitch".

Although I think the footage was unhelpful in terms of what words were said, but it cast a lot of light on the order of events (and the inconsistencies in Suarez story), and the manner in which things were said. Most of the words came from testimony (largely from Evra).

The panel decided that Evra did not say this.

I must have missed that, thought I'd read it all.

Did they discount it on the fact that Evra is a reliable witness who doesn't like derogatory terms?

They explain how they judged the conflicting testimonies. If Evra was a proven liar like you are trying to suggest, Suarez legal team could and should have introduced evidence to that effect. Instead, Evra comes across as credible, Suarez looks like a liar, and LFC look like idiots.

The rubbish about "Fergie's lies" and how he should be punished. This stuff about Evra saying naughty words. Harping on about Rooney's elbow again. It's all diversionary because you, in your infinite stupidity, refuse to acknowledge that Suarez fucked up and deserves to be punished, and keep going on about how awful everyone else is instead.

Also, I doubt Evra's complaint is a blanket one about the use of "negro", irrespective of context. I'm sure you know it is perfectly possible to use words like that in a friendly manner, particularly when black people are addressing one another. I'm sure you also know (or would do if you'd read the report), that this is not what Suarez was doing.

Tbh I've given up and moving on. Im getting slightly embarrassed and anoyed by the whole thing. I keep seeing a LFC Fan on my FB being all "FUCK TO FA" "FUCK EVRA" and even go as far as saying he feels let down by the club not appealing it. I just get embarrassed reading it. I admit I tried I stick up for Suarez but I can't anymore and just wan to move on.

We already look like idiots, why do we keep dragging the club even more through the mud. Let him serve his ban, he'll get booed till the end of the season then come next year well have another villain to boo (probably who ever knocks us out the Euros I'd suspect)

But Torres cost you £20million, so going on the above maths you paid £5million for Carroll. so you still "got done" ;)

No because he's an asset, saleable for more than £5m.

I know you're joking, but it doesn't really make sense to think of transfers in these terms. If Carroll turns out to be a failure at Anfield, then he's an expensive failure (and a burden on our wage bill and FFP, as well as the opportunity cost when we could have signed someone else or put someone else in our squad in the team, and won more games). But numbers games based on headline transfer fees are simplistic and silly.
