That's literally the worst subject-change anyone has ever attempted in the history of conversation.

He's got tobuy himself some time to go and read the report so he can come back with some snappy one liners about the united-fa-referee-independent tribunial conspiracy: but this time it's paragraph references.

An attempt to diffuse things should be lauded not questioned.

Rather apparent "intelligent" posters including footle decide to try their hand at getting lols. Grow up.

Well done morons, keep plugging away at the same old story which no one agrees on. Yeah that's the best thing to do! Why not eek out the drama and keep people at each other's throats a bit longer.

No doubt had I made another post on the same subject it would have been "why keep this going on".

Moronic stuff guys, Happy New Year.

Definitely the best way to avoid discussion of a 110 page report constructed due to allegations of racism against a Liverpool player is to start a discussion about tabloid tittle-tattle about the former Everton, now Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.

At least you agree you're not on a list of intelligent posters though. That's progress.

So why did they just decide neither were telling the whole truth? Because if there were inconsistencies in both, which they've admitted to, why then just take one side as absolute 100% gospel?

There was that third choice and yet theyve decided not to go with it.

You really don't understand rulings (having not read the report I guess you can't), nothing is 100% but considering how much your side have twisted and turned, why wouldn't they believe Evra's side of the story? Here's a nice one for you:

"Suarez’s defence claim that Evra made up Suarez saying he kicked him because he was black and that he didn’t talk to blacks. They claim that because Suarez had kicked Evra in the knee, Evra wanted revenge, so fabricated the whole story. This means they are suggesting that Evra feigned outrage after his exchange with Suarez and lied to the referee, that he lied to Giggs on the pitch when he asked him what was the matter, and that he lied to Valencia, Chichartio, Nani, Anderson and Sir Alex Ferguson in the dressing room immediately after the game. The commission rejected the defence’s suggestion that the accusations were just an elaborate plot for Evra to get revenge on Suarez for being kicked."

Can somebody please PM me when Luis Suarez vs the world is not the #1 topic in this thread anymore?

Wait until John Terry gets found not guilty in court and the FA decide to take no action or investigate.

Actually, is that even a possibility? Does one thing follow the other or are they duty bound to investigate irrespective of what the courts find? I guess nobody on here will know but it'd leave the FA in an impossible position if the courts said not guilty.

This whole thing has been hilarious. Liverpool have acted disgracefully from Dalglish downwards. The report makes it clear that they knew what was going on but they insisted on wearing those shirts. Liverpool asked for an extension for the jury to consider the evidence, then complained about the FA dragging it out on national TV.

Liverpool have acted without any dignity and made the situation a million times worse through stubbornness and tribalism.

Just accept it and get over it.

I agree with Hoop.

I haven't finished reading the report yet! Just because people like Dinobot feel like they can mouth off without bothering doesn't mean the rest of us might not have something to add. As its a shameful event for our club, obviously we're going to want to move on ASAP, but no reason to sweep it under the carpet altogether.

Agreed.

Can I respectfully suggest that we have a moratorium on the Suarez debate please, at least until anything more concrete appears? I don't think anyone is enjoying the Football Thread at the moment and there are plenty of games to talk about instead.

As a complete neutral, I'm enjoying the spectacle on one particular section desperately trying to bury their head in the sand. I'd never have though it possible to this level.

After the lord mayors show at Villa Park. Seems the result at Stamford Bridge was more about Chelsea being bad than us being good, because this performance against a weakened Swansea side (7 changes?) has been bloody awful. We have been absolutely schooled today.

Bit of an odd week for them really, from beating ManYoo at Old Trafford to losing to Stoke at Ewood.

Good result for Stoke though, looking good for finally getting that elusive top half of the table finish this year.

Stoke are a decent team that have spent a lot more than Blackburn!

Joey Barton sent off today for a headbutt he claims he didn't do. He also said that the officials admitted to him at half time they didn't see it. If that's true then how could they send him off?

It will be interesting to see on MOTD tonight.

I as only watching a grainy steam so MOTD might tell a different story, but for me you couldn't see Barton's head move at all, and it was pure reaction from Johnson that caused the linesman to give it. The ref definitley didn't see it, and had to ask the linesman for advice... And the linesman hadn't even flagged so fuck knows what was thinking if he'd apparently just seen one player headbutt another. Such a shame because Barton had scored a great goal just before that and we were well on top in a possible relegation 6-pointer.
