For those who are struggling with turnips - get thee a massive perfect fruit orchard.

Take your crop to a town where your fruit isn't the native, and sell sell sell.

I just made over 500,000 bells from two days harvest.



Oh, and with that in mind, if you have something other than perfect pears, my gates are open.

Oh and letsbook (and greeny now too I suppose), I just picked up another sort of 'modern table' in Nookling's today; this time it's a long low thing with a glass top. Now I'm totally confused as to what my dinner table type modern table is called, as I'm sure that was "modern table" as well and it has the black and white check pattern on it. Which is also odd, because this new one has only the glass top and not the pattern but it's still called modern table :wacko:

I should just photo my room, it would probably be a lot easier.....

Either way, all can be had :) The cabinet I mentioned isn't actually a street fighter II cabinet, but it looks like mario and luigi characters in a 2D fighter, if that makes any more sense. It's just called 'arcade cabinet' so I'm not sure if there are other types of furniture called arcade cabinet with different games in or anything. I would think not, personally.

b00dles, I think there's "modern" furniture, which is black and white, and "modern wood" furniture, which is different. I was just looking through my stuff and I have the modern wall clock, a modern wood stool and a modern wood bed. Confusing!

I don't know if I'm missing something but are turnips really the way to go for making money anyway? You can get 4-500K from a 30 minute trip to the island, so it doesn't seem worth messing around with buying and storing turnips and checking prices and all that, given the profit you make from them.

Wouldn't you need millions of bells worth to make anything like the kind of money you get from the island?

Awesome! I would love that clock. Anything in particular you're collecting?

Also, RE: the island. I made about 400k in about 45 minutes last night. Just stick to the expensive bugs and sharks, fishing is too inconsistent and time consuming on its own.

Yeah Carly, I know that there are the two different flavours of 'modern' - I think the modern wood is new, cos I collected modern in the GC version. I'm still confused as I've got this long modern table (two squares of 'space with a glass top) and what I think (haven't checked recently) is a one square modern table more like a dining table. Either way, the wood stuff is all brown (like wood, obv) and the plain modern is black and often black & white.

I've got the modern wall clock too and the bubble one now as well. Woot, as they apparently say.

I can get quite a few patchwork things from streetpass as well if you want me to order some stuff in, sofa, table and a cupboard iirc. Maybe a few more.

I'll try and get some photos of the various tat I've got on here later and I might just buy some patchwork stuff from HH just to get it in my catalog. In regards to what was mentioned a few days back, I think the catalogue in Nook's is only ever for you even if you visit someone else, as he specifically says 'personal catalogue' in one of the intro bits of chat he gives.

Are you lot all transforming your islands into bug factories or something?

There is an element of that, I guess :)

I made a quick cheat sheet for myself of prices of bugs on the island. Link here, assuming I've shared it right:

It's not all of them, but it's most of the ones you'd want to keep. But looking at the prices, it seemed like you're better off just geting bugs off palm trees and ignoring the rest, so I cut down the other trees and stomped on the plants. You still have to scare off ground insects, but you can just run in circles round the island getting bugs off the palms.

You get to take 40 things back with you, so you're looking at 400K easily if you have Bell Boom, and it doesn't take long to fill the box.

Not really. You get a 4-8 fold return, for very little work (but some risk).

No risk and almost no work for perfect fruit.

No risk but lots of work for the island.

Bell Boom is an ordinance you can select that makes shop prices 20% higher. So furniture and stuff costs more, but town/house improvements stay the same price, and you get 20% more for stuff you sell.

I think you could get trees back by taking bananas from one of the minigames and planting them back on the island.

That took you 30 minutes, but to make that much money with turnips would take barely two, You only need to buy 100k's worth to sell for 500k and get your island's 400k profit.

I guess because I'm not really going online much, the turnip stuff is only generally getting me 20% or so. So a million bells would only get me a couple of hundred thousand back. If you're managing to find somebody with crazy prices each week, I guess it's going to be a lot better.
