Something about the marketing of this film so far has really grated for me so far, it just seems to be trying too hard to be 'now' and it comes across way too forced. Hopefully the actual film won't have the same tone.

Every Muppet film has been the same. 'Current' star actors, self mockery, knowing winks to the camera, all that. That's the fucking Muppets!

I've just been in Tesco where the TVs were playing something with Cookie Monster, a Mongolian looking guy I'm guessing was Genghis Khan and Darth Vader. Was this a Muppet movie? Or just a good night out?

I've never seen a Muppet movie. Yeah, I know. I need to fix that. I see Space and Manhattan are out on BD in the US very soon, so are they both worth watching?

Take Manhattan is definitely worth a watch and From Space isn't too bad either but not up to the quality of a number of other Muppet films (particularly The Muppet Movie, The Great Muppet Caper and Christmas Carol).

Some pretty cool videos have come out of D23

First up is Brian Henson performing the classic sketch, mimicking his father's movements perfectly.

Next up is a tribute video to Jim followed by the clip above, but not as well recorded and then Brian tells some stories about his father

Finally they ended the whole show with Kermit and Rowlf singing Rainbow Connection. It's cool to see Rowlf in such a prominent position again, it's still odd to hear someone else do the voice after being benched for so long. Still I think Bill Barretta does a fine job here, especially when he messes up.

Having spent the last week watching the first season of The Muppet Show, it's crazy to watch newer models in HD. Cannot wait for this movie!

I'm going through them now, haven't watched them since I was a kid (and even then I only definitely recall watching Muppets Tonight). Waiting for S3 D1 to arrive from Lovefilm.

Am I blind or have Disney not released s4 and s5?

Nope they haven't. Season 4 has been pushed back so many times and it seems it is down to rights issues, specifically with Lucas and the Star Wars episode. But it is hard to imagine it has been going on this long so maybe they have just held back to coincide with the new film.

There is a new Toy Story short attached to the Muppets print (hopefully we will also get it in February) called Small Fry:

Buzz Lightyear gets left behind at a fast-food restaurant and tries to find his way back home with the help of less popular, Happy Meal-like toys. It turns out there’s a bit more to it because one of the Happy Meal-toys kidnaps Buzz and tries to take over his play-filled existence.
