I know you all want to know exactly when the services will be restored. At this time, I can’t give you an exact date, as it will likely be at least a few more days. We’re terribly sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work through this process.

People obviously do read it otherwise you wouldn't know about it.

Sorry man, I should have said 'hardly anyone' but I thought people would understand that it wasn't meant literally.

I wouldn't read too much into The Sarge picking it up, the man is Google Reader in human form and I love him to pieces for it.

(just to be clear: I don't actually love him 'to pieces', it's a figure of speech; and I don't actually love him, but I do appreciate his work. Also he didn't 'pick it up' but read it elsewhere, then posted it here. And I don't mean he put it in the mail, etc etc, fucking hell)

You should say what you mean, otherwise you get tiresome pedants like me picking you up on it.

So happy that the iPlayer,4OD and to a lesser extent ITV player have been working. Don't know if i could have handled those being cut off as well.

They could never be cut off by any service on any PlayStation device as they're just webpages. I suppose if the browser was removed then...

Sign up screen is working on PSN for me now (new PS3, no chance to activate it since it went down) dare I click it? :ph34r:

And the store screen says 'Undergoing maintenance lol, again' (it doesn't say 'lol') instead of error 5421231, it also does the correct pause and beep when it's loading like it used to. Sony, or hackers messing with my shit?

This is my main US account, BTW.

Update: There is no system update available yet. I'm not touching this till I get an email.

The sign in page said 'There has been an error #whatever number' for weeks, now I get the splash screen and 'sign in with a new/existing user'. Attempting to any sign-in takes me to the 'Maintenance page'. I haven't had the splash screen or maintenance page since it went down.

The shop gave me the error code for weeks, now it gives me the maintenance warning.

No, it's not back up but the splash screens have changed.

EDIT: And now I don't get the maintenance warning, I've just got a blue Playstation[r]Store splash screen, spinning PS logo then a 'timeout warning'. So something is going on because it's changed three times in the last hour.

Why don't you just wait till they say it's back up rather than battering at the door rabidly ? You could be doing more harm than good.
