Major Britten
With DiRT 3 coming out today I was thinking about rally games on cafe and one cool thing that could be done with the controller is having a second player sat next to you act as the co driver and read out the directions from a map on the screen instead of arrows appearing on the TV screen while youre driving. Would certainly add to the realism. Also Nintendo have confirmed that they will be streaming their E3 conference again this year.

gizmo1990
I'm not buying into their bs conference talks again. I'll wait till it's over then check out the news sites for a info splurg. Sat through their conferences too many times and thought at the end I want my time back!
Wistful
Is that all? With such a modest list of desires I'm sure you won't be disappointed. That could be a line to sum up a happy life! Thing is, I wouldn't be surprised if it's not quite as powerful as a 360 and the online is shit.
Broker
Thing is, I wouldn't be surprised if it's not quite as powerful as a 360 and the online is shit. I was being sarcastic, I think the idea that it would be as powerful as a ps3, have a decent online service, upscale wii games and have stuff designed by shigsy is crazy ambitious. I'd be very, very happy with that set up.
scottcr
anyone expecting an integrated online experience like you get on the 360 is kidding themselves on. However, I expect that some partner will take this up - I also wouldn't be surprised if there was a price associated with it - similar to the 360. Actually Im expecting online to be even more integrated in this console than the 360 or PS3. The big problem that Nintendo had with the Wii was the friends codes for each game, no unified friends list and lack of voice chat for most of the games. Thats something that looks to be fixed with the 3DS so it seems reasonable to assume that the same will be true with Cafe. Also one major feature that the Wii had which nobody actually used was WiiConnect24, 3DS uses the same system with SpotPass, neither the 360 or the PS3 have this. Being able to update/patch a game automatically even while the console is turned off would be great, lets just hope there is a HDD though or else nobody will bother using the feature.. again. As it highly likely doesn't have a HDD (just like the Wii), don't hold your breath. I don't understand how it would be able to patch anything unless it was both connected to the internet and turned on anyway, somthing which goes against modern thinking about wasting energy. I assume that by "turned off" he really means "not in use". It's also surely going to have enough storage for that downloading patches wouldn't be a big issue. The 3DS essentially does it with SpotPass.

Robo_1
I'm not sure if this has been debunked yet, but the below spec sheet has been popping up across a few sites: Source. If true, that would make for a fairly powerful machine. There's a good amount of RAM too, which would pretty much guarantee it the best quality multiplat games for the foreseeable future. squirtle
The way I look at it is this: Can Nintendo make a machine with all that in and still make a profit? I don't know as I don't know the cost of these things, but if they can, then it's possible, I suppose.
Orbital2060
Hopefully it will have HDMI sound/Optical sound outputs. The aural side to videogames is almost as important as the visual; the only problem I have with the Wii compared to the PS3/360 is the tinny sound through a decent setup. After playing LA Noire and watch it positively chug on some sections we need something able to chuck out significantly more than current consoles. DeFiBkIlLeR
Huh???....that looks FAR too powerful for anything Nintendo would launch.. That CPU is an absolute monster!!!...4 Core 8 threaded 87Gflops...Holy Shit..thats getting on for twice as fast as my PhenomII 965 Quad at 4Ghz. 512Mb main Ram and 1Gb Video Ram...very strange, although games running at 1080p with lots of Anti Aliasing would need 1Gb.. Looks too good to be true TBH, gonna call it as fake...would like to be proved wrong though.
Alex W.
Why would it be available in 250GB and 320GB capacities? That'd be like shipping a Wii with a choice of black or grey GameCube ports. And why would the SD card be listed as "expanded storage"? Who want to expand a cheap, fast hundred-gigabyte drive with expensive, slow cards, one tenth the size? I suppose the definitive reason to suspect that it's a load of fan wank is the fact that the chips are named from characters from Star Fox, a franchise with a fiction that nobody outside Deviantart actually gives a crap about.
Orbital2060
Regarding the Bluray-Disc, does a deal using that have to go through Sony? Or is the BR trademark owned by a separate company? (Sorry for daft q, Ive no idea how this works)
Smoothy
Sony don't own the trademark, it and the tech are owned by a consortium including Sony.

(Sorry for daft q, Ive no idea how this works) There's a big association that's in charge of Blu-Ray. Sony's a member but it's autonomous, anyone can pay the money and sign up to make Blu-Ray hardware (or buy someone else's hardware and stick the Blu-Ray label on their product).
___
At this stage, I don't care if the E3 conference reveals that their next console will be controlled exclusively by the Vitality Sensor as long as it spells and end to these utterly, increasingly shite faked leaks which get discussed anyway despite their shitness. "A JPEG will make it look more... leaky - and put THREE "for internal use only"s on it lol!"

b00dles
There has already been mention of some sort of custom mini Blu-ray the size of the Cube discs but who knows, there are too many rumours, it's getting a bit silly. Not long now at least though.

Not long now at least though. No way it'll go back to small disks. It has to accept 12cm disks for Wii compatibility and at that point you might as well go for something full-size. Aye, don't believe that spec sheet for a second A quad core cpu at 3.5ghz? That'd certainly be a massive shift from nintendos usual trend 250gb hard drive? Blu-ray? Nah, would love to be proved wrong though ...no trackball...
