As you can probably see from the link above, the Megaman 2 video has been age-restricted for reasons that are difficult to understand:

Ars have an article about this with an update from YouTube and Summoning Salt.

I read this this morning before seeing the post here. And just checked. The YouTube response is the same stupid and empty one they had then. Literally no help as usual.

I think YouTube may have a point though - if I was deciding whether to let kids  watch a video about MegaMan and it featured a scene where someone screams "Fuck" over and over again, I'd want that to be marked as unsuitable for kids.

If he wants to claim his videos are family friendly he should bleep them or something.

Someone didn't read the article.

Fair enough, although if my kids suddenly decided they wanted to watch a video about speedrunning Mega Man, I'd probably think they're ready to handle swearing.

That's not really his issue.

It's the lack of clarity in the rules, inconsistency in their application, poor support response times and not a lot of detail in them.

Add to this that after they manually removed the block on this video the auto moderation tool later flagged it again for nudity or sexual content (rather than bad language).

No I didn't read the article, to be fair.

Nice. Looking through that, no Super Metroid or Super Mario 64. I thought those were usually staples, but yeah, change it up. I thought we'd see more Elden Ring but I guess there was nothing worthy right now. Looking forward to co-op PowerWash Simulator, though. Should be immense.

The BOTW any% is wild and contains very little of the stasis rock flying of old.

No Elden Ring?

That's piqued my interest then. Great to see Illbleed on there! I have no idea about the runner, but the game is wild.

They were, but the Floridian hotel wasn't up to the COVID safety standards they wanted.

They hosts had masks off on the first day but looks like they've put them back on. I wonder how things will be by the summer event.

Edit: Just saw them again with masks off so no idea what the rules are over there.

Haven't watched a single run this time and can't even be bothered checking the vids on YouTube. Seems like I am completely over it, not sure if I simply just lost interest after watching it for the past 5 years (had it on in the background at work) or the complete lack or couch and crowd emphasis how dull this type event can be.

That's definitely part of it, there's still some good runs, but it's less of a whole.

Hate hate hate the ridiculously high run incentives though, especially as they take over commentary with donation begging.

I just miss the room full of people going "ooooh" in hushed tones as the player does something.  It's like watching The Big Bang Theory without a laugh track to hide the fact that it's not funny.  Like, you can watch the world record for Mario 64 right now on YouTube, or watch someone streaming live if that's your thing.  Also AGDQ was all about the event, so it just loses its appeal when the players are at home on their own....

Yeah definitely loses a lot without the crowd, and if you've seen multiple GDQs before there's diminishing returns, but there are still lots of good runs to watch.

How about 6 players blitzing the fuck out of some vehicles for a laugh?
