Shame that, but if a game is utterly terrible for a whole year it's always going to be difficult to get rid of that stigma. Also it's really ugly and is very heavily based around footsies and fundamentals, which means it doesn't have SF4 or Marvel's spectator appeal. But yeah, still a shame as it's a very good game post-patch, and is at the very least a superior game to Injustice. Injustice is shit, guys, why is it still a thing?

Hopefully they'll pin it on a million bad compromises and wonky design decisions.

As long as SF4 is on the list I'm obviously happy, but for argument's sake here are the things I would have preferred to see over Injustice, KI or even Strekken:

- ST or HDR or 3S

- SSB:M

- a 3D fighter, preferably VF5 or whichever version of Tekken is the one dudes are playing now

Also: I am available for fighting today (from now until the early evening) if anyone wants to get a few in at some point.

According to the organisers, Super Smash Bros. Melee has a spot... but they're currently in negotiations with Nintendo as to whether it will be allowed to appear. So very similar to the situation last year.

Also, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Super SFII Turbo, they've announced that EVO will be hosting the Xmania tournament for the first time. I then learned that Xmania is Japan's premier Suepr Turbo tournament, and that this is a pretty big deal. So that's good!

No, YOU just checked the prices of Las Vegas hotels from July 10-14! Did it just get warm in here...?

Oh god don't get me started, the majority people I know at uni who play video games only play injustice with a little bit of divekick, tekken 6 and SF4 on the side when it comes to fighting games.

In the first game, a Guile player attempts to answer the classic Zen philosophical poser "What is the sound of one man cracking?" against Brylarke's Cammy. In game two, my run of Dragonman Rose form continues and I hit both of my absolutely foolproof Rose set ups that nobody in ranked ever blocks. We recovered the account on 1,700PP after a slightly intoxicated Ghost had been using it the night before. Ended the evening on 2,400. Dragonmaaaaaan.

Also, Joffistarr! There will be a USF4 location test at Hypespotting!

Dragonman doesn't acknowledge pointless human gestures. He is as serious about his play as default costume, ultra 1 Ryu with no taunt selected.

Also, I love rage mail when it bears no relation to what just happened. "Cammy accidentally frame traps" in response to a loss brought upon oneself entirely by doing way too many flash kicks in the first round and then pressing way too many buttons vs EX drill (all of which were followed by clean combos) in the second? Sure. I mean, I know Cammy is awful and anyone who plays her should be very much ashamed of themselves, but still: sure.

GGs earlier this evening, Ig and Joffo - I think I got about 75 matches in total and a whole bunch of great Chun/Ryu learning. Hope to catch you again soon!
