I am going to Hypespotting yes. Allystah, how interesting is interesting? I am currently torn between getting public transport booked early and trying to rustle up a team SFO Trip. However, if a third, superior option presented itself I would potentially be open to it.

I look forward to watching that FT5 this evening, excellent work chaps.

Man, series 2 goes hard. I'm a little bit in awe of it.

JLM: I'm pretty innerested, but you have to train me up beforehand. I have holidays to book so could probably even book the Friday off for Friday night fighting/travelling (delete as appropriate).

We could enter 3rd Strike with Joffocakes. I'll pick Ryu and throw fireballs.

I'm gonna be playing this amazing fighting game from about 3pm if anyone would like to join me.

If anyone is around earlier I might be able to get on then. But definitely on by 3.

I can probably do a quick session at about 16.30 if all goes well this afternoon (should you still be around).

What's wrong with the site? As of a week or so ago its almost entirely stopped locking as the full version on my phone. It was always a bit temperamental but now it goes to mobile site every time I go on. Ive tried rebookmarking, refreshing etc to no avail. I don't want the goddamn mobile version.

Any suggestions?

Here's a nice gimmicky Rose combo I learned about this week, and had to try out. I will never land this in a match.

Apparently you can do this with a df.mk slide that doesn't connect instead of walking up, but I couldn't manage that. (Thinking about it, this might be interesting - I saw a video that said Rose's orbs start in different places depending on how much meter you have, and I can't for the life of me find it again.)

This evening I lost to a T. Hawk with less than 200 BP/PP, then beat an A-ranked Blanka player. So it goes.

It's a bit skippy in places :( I think that might be down to the hard drive I was recording it on, though.

This is awesome but yeah it does get a bit painful with the audio sync issues. Those first two matches though, a joy to watch.

Had a very enjoyable evening of fightings with SFO Brylarke at SFO House 2 last night. Played an impromptu FT10 against his Cammy to start. Took it 10-3. His Cammy has improved so much since I started attending SFO, so it was both pleasing to take it quite convincingly and equally satisfying to see him take some games and make me work so hard to win. I like seeing other players level up as much as I enjoy improving my own game.

After that we played against the ranked masses for several hours and it was thoroughly entertaining. His Xbox started having connection issues early on, so most of the time was spent fighting the PC ranked community. My goodness the standard was low. So much week one Xbox live stuff happening, presumably because the PC scene is younger and because there are new players picking it up more regularly thanks to cut price deals and whatnot. Even the 3,500pp players were of a much lower standard than their Xbox counterparts, with lots of very gimmicky "only works once but once is enough in ranked" things afoot.

He was playing Cammy and I was playing random select and we won the vast, vast majority of the matches, usually requesting specific stuff we wanted to see each time. At one point I told him I wanted to see a Cammy Super to punish Ryu's sweep and it happened about three seconds later. Lovely.

Despite it mostly being a laugh and only occasionally finding a quality opponent, it was still a useful practise session as it was a good opportunity to practise punishes, anti-airs and exercising extreme caution against the most rrraggo players I have seen since Vanilla. Oh, and I made Ant save a replay because I got random select Elf and finished the match with Fierce xx run - > sobat xx super. Best UK El Fuerte right here. Yup.

Defend the North is this weekend. SFO Willo and ProFluke from Manchester will be in attendance. I hope at least one of them gets on stream given that theyve gone all the way to New York. Also a fairly big SFO casuals session planned for Sunday. I am truly on the Streetfighting grind in January; I hope this all pays off at the tournament at the end of the month.

Also I loved the Gootecks and Mike Ross show. I don't want to live in a world where those two gentleman are not the best of friends having the best of times, so it was truly heartwarming to see them back in their groove.

An amazing 3.5hr session yesterday against, in order, Donut, Joffo and Alistarr. Thank you guys for some outstanding matches. Truely awesome.

Good, wildly solid Guile play and you've thoroughly adapted to my jump-arc altering Dan kick antics and started delaying your anti-airs or simply waiting and punishing my landing. It totally worked. I hate you.

Alistarr did some really, really good reaction supers and ultras a Chun but I'm sure he did something else phenomenal that I got all excited about. I can't remember what, though. The Chun Li vs Guile matches were wonderfully tense every round.

Also, in ranked I got thoroughly and enjoyably beaten up by the another rllmuk Guile, G360UK aka andyGT. Complete with Shades action. Excellent.

Also also, regarding Gootecks and Michael; there were a lot of references to Mike Ross having a dreadful year and I'm seen more than one "Mike Ross is homeless!" thing, maybe connected to that brief cancelled IGN deal. What's the full story with all of that?

I was far too pleased with myself I must admit.

In more thread-relevant news, I have eaten good food lately.

Whilst still at home with my parents I went to a fancy restaurant as a sort of pre-New Year celebratory dinner thing. I had pan-seared venison in black cherry sauce and it was one of the most beautiful things I have ever eaten. Oh my goodness it was good. As someone who mourns the steady decline of black cherry related products in this country (Black cherry jelly and black cherry Crusha, how I miss you :(), the sight of this on the menu made me positively giddy with excitement. Thankfully the food absolutely delivered and I wish I was eating it again right now, and for every meal for the rest of forever.

I also went for Teppanyaki last weekend and it was delightful. As well as the showmanship and all round entertainment, I think the beauty of it for me is that having a steak cooked right in front of me allows me to specify to the millisecond how cooked I want it. I cannot overstate how much I appreciate this, because overcooked steak breaks my heart. I used to order beef medium rare, but I realised over time that many restaurants see this as a cop out order, assume I'm squeamish and proceed to destroy the meant until barely any pink remains. So I resolved to change my default order rare or bloody and it is one of the best decisions I have ever made. Mmm, beefy.

The only sour note is that I spend quite a lot of money there and then received a free Taste card two days later that would have given me 50% off. Gosh darn it.

I have resolved to learn more recipes this year, which is proving to be rather more rewarding and less difficult than expected. Butternut squash & courgette risotto was awesome, though alas, wildly over-saged at the last minute.

I played 3 entire matches against alistarr yesterday. I did possibly the most psychic ex greenhand what i ever done.

I think my new connection is worse than my old one, annoyingly.

Man, it was three and doughnuts free. I blame the connection for missing so many throw techs against your bison but the gief work was all your own. Sorry for running off so soon, dinner was burning.

Hit confirm super off st.mp against your ken. Don't worry about forgetting though, I gave myself enough props for that already :-) It wasn't as good as your clinical murder of Chun with Rufus anyway, or Ig's complete refusal to miss a one frame link all night.
