Friend of mine just bought me a years Xbox Live sub! Which was very nice of him. Been using the odd 3-day code over the past couple of weeks to play a little, but I'm gonna dive in properly now. Will be on tonight if anyone wants to fight my Hawk.

I've been watching a few more Dreamhack* matches post-pub tonight, and noticed Nercromina representing Spain. Because I'm all about a) Spain and b) the issue of representation of women in gaming communities, I had a quick Youtube search.

This is from 2011 but it's relevant to the recent discussions of match commentary: it's nice to see that Spanish commentators for Street Fighter are just as utterly mad as they are for football. If you can listen to this whole thing on headphones, you will be entertained but you might get a headeache.

I like the way they pronounce "grappler", the fact that "punished" seems to be "castigado" i.e. "told off", and that the Spanish for "anti-air" is "anti-Aero".

My mate got salty last night; after he left for a phone call and I was honorable at first, let the timer tick down to zero from about 60 and he won that round because a few pixels of health; it was now 2:1 to me and he still hadn't come back for the next round... Timer goes down to 20 seconds left, I hear a "lets do this" and he starts throwing projectiles, trying to range my poor Balrog out, with 5 seconds left I let loose a level 9 Turn-Punch and almost all his life depletes instantly, "Why do you have to be so cheap!" followed by refusing to play any more. :lol:

I dared to venture online with the PC version using just a 360 pad (both my TE's and Fightpad(!) are back at home) - i ran into the lovely Spuckuk in Endless. Had some great games despite the control issues. lol!

I'll be back after Xmas fully tooled up. ;)

GGs with Ig last night who completely threw me by not playing Guile. Nice Bison! Nison.

Yeah that was awesome. I've been trying to decide on a second and have picked up Bison only a few days ago, so I just wanted to try him out. That was so fun! Loving your Ryu by the way, he's really come on in the last few weeks. Liked mistimed fireball punish with headstomp, AA DP>U1 for the win! I was yelling "Nice!" at the TV when you did that, and at several other occasions, hoping you could hear me.

Few headstomps were me cocking up scissors. Found out I tend to end high on a charge back, forward+ button during a match. Which has obviously never been an issue with Guile before, but overlaps with headstomp with Bison. Gotta practice throwing low.

I'm around in an couple of hours if you, or anyone else, would like some games.

Often the washing machine, because we don't have any kind of stereo in the front room (which is next to the kitchen, we don't have it in the front room, that would be insane. Also the front room is not at the front but you get my meaning). When it does its final noisy and vigorous spin, it can introduce a real element of tension to matches.
