Yes, I had a good time. The film was ace, and it's quite a nice pub. The food was especially decent. And obviously it was nice to get that big comfy sofa in the middle. Once I'm moved up thatway I'd definitely go to it if it became a regular thing.

I quite liked introducing you to my real life friend and trying to not call you hegg or mention street fighter at all.

Zhi is foully tweeting stuff about some kind of USF4 announcement. Delayed wakeup is confirmed, red focus crumples on level 1 when you FADC into it (4 bars). Wultra will do 60% damage.

Not that I don't trust Zhi.

I like Zhi. There, I said it. I know the thread hates him and I know that he probably deserves it, but I still like him. I think it's a misconception that he's trying desperately hard to get laughs. I think he says whatever stupid shit pops into his head and he has no filter whatsoever when he's amongst friends (Mike Ross, Xian etc.) That doesn't excuse his horribly offensive comments, but I personally don't get offended by them because he indiscriminately talks nonsense about anyone and everyone including himself and I don't think there's any malice behind it.

I'm not saying that other people shouldn't be offended on that basis and I totally get why they are, but that's why I personally don't mind it. I do cringe sometimes and just think "for fuck's sake shut up Zhi" but I take the rough with the smooth with him. Sometimes he'll say something that I find hysterically funny, and when he does knuckle down and talk pure science he is an incredible commentator. Even when he's being offensive and fixated on something terrible and making me cringe out of my skin I'd still take him over James Chen. Also that tournament where Xian was about to fight Mago or Fuudo in grand finals and Zhi left the commentary booth to go and get Xian mentally prepared and was getting a bit choked up with pride/desire to see young Xian win his first major was beautiful. He's a sweetheart really.

When Zhi's really hitting the insane metaphors and images it can be bafflingly funny (EX Flash Kick is an egg yolk? Well yeah I guess it is), but it'd be good if he worked out that shitty racist/sexist jokes said ironically can still be shitty.

I find James Chen quite likeable, although Ultradavid is clearly the real appeal of that double act.

Also does anyone want to do some lobbyin' tonight? Not sure I can handle seereeoos beesnees but I'd be up for twatting about.

I'm off out clubbing in Fabric tonight, as though I'm 21 years old or something. Fear for me.

I buy fabriclive CDs occasionally and tell myself I still ever go out dancing. Tonight I'm making Old El Paso fajitas and watching Avengers Assemble on DVD, as though I'm married or something.

So is this a good or bad thing for Elf. I only ask as I've seen some comment on the information super highway suggesting this will be terrible for the man who likes cooking but I'm not too sure.

Personally I think this will help his mixup, even if it means more use of the corpse hop and run stop nothing, but then again I am a low tier Elf so what do the learned thread members think ?

Zhi's awesome when he just comes out with random science that you don't even think about when all of that stuff's happening in a match, but he sometimes comes across as trying a bit too hard with the random humour. I think Chen's very entertaining; he might not know what he's on about all of the time but he keeps the hype alive and he's all nice and jovial instead of being in srs mode all of the time. :)

I may be on later for twatting about, so throw invites at me if I show up.

I personally think the problem with Zhi's offensive comments is that it encourages the shitty elements of the FGC to justify their beliefs, whether they be homophobic, sexist, etc and the fact that they are offensive.

I do think he does have a certain responsibility now that he is one of the more recognised spokespersons of the FGC but then again what do I know (I don't even know the basics).

In other news I wrote a function yesterday like this

 onReaction: function (okizeme){.......}

where the okizeme parameter is a bit flag and it is part of the dpLink namepsace library.

I have yet to work out how to explain this and the other smattering of SF terms when it gets code reviewed, hmmm.

Is there are a specific timing to landing T. Hawk's body splash post-lp.spd? Or is it a generally unsafe thing to do and is more about getting your opponent to be scared of retaliating? Sometimes it feels rock solid and others like I'm just giving my opponent a free wake-up. It's my rubbish timing, isn't it? I mean, I should be able to do that against a Bison player fairly safely, right?

I think instant splash works? If not then I usually hold crouch and jump as soon as hawk ducks down. Bison has so many escape options though.

Possibly.

They've been saying for months that they're behind schedule though, and that it might possibly miss it's original Q1 window. Loketests are behind schedule too. I think that maybe, if the sole reason for delay was for Xbone/ PS4 releases, then they might well have gone ahead with the original Loketest schedule and have more time to process feedback.
