...appears to be some kind of way to instruct the PC version's training mode dummy to do certain things for you at certain times, to help you practise setups, safe jumps, option selects, etc. It's too late and I'm too tired to understand any of it right now, though. Whoever bothers to look at it/work out what's going on first, be sure to let everyone else know whether or not it's any good!

I wouldn't subject you to watching replays of my newborn Ryu but I would be interested in your thoughts on Rufus Dhalsim if you have any - don't worry about watching replays or whatever if you've forgotten though. It's obviously a winning matchup for Rufus so it's more a question of whether there was anything you were waiting for me to do, or general matchup approach.

In that case, here are a few things from memory.

Generally, you were capitalising on everything really well. Combos were rarely dropped. Opportunities to Ultra were all seized, I believe. Divekick, divekick, divekick, divekick, (sim button press), target combo->ultra. AARRGGH.

EX messiah going through everything? Yep, you used that really well.

I got a bit of mileage out of Wakeup ex yoga blast IIRC because more often than not your Rufus is going to divekick on my wakeup.

Excellent corner pressure. A million divekicks I can block but at some point I'm going to press a button to make it stop and then you're in. I literally have no idea what to do in this situation. If it comes out quickly enough, f.lp will slap you out of a divekick. Slide is great for escaping the corner, but you were very good at punishing these.

Fireball, wait for you to jump and divekick, HK worked quite a bit. I avoided using mk as it's easy to divekick. mk has a more useful angle generally, but at a distance hk can work quite well. In these cases, I think just neutral jumping the fireball might have served you better, though obviously you were trying to close in. Perhaps a smaller jump before divekick?

Excellent work blocking ultra->teleport setups. I think I only managed to land Ultras as anti-airs.

If I've got Super stocked, remember that it also works as an excellent anti-air. If I've got both, anti-air Ultra -> Super is a thing. A big damage thing. I didn't get the chance to do this though so perhaps you were already being mindful of it.

You were knocking me out of teleports consistently so nothing needs improving there.

Um, you basically beat the living bejesus out of me. So just do more of that :D

Let me know if you want more info and I'l happily review the matches. Sorry, I've been short of time. Also let me know if you want to complete the set with a Sim Ryu FT10.

EDIT: Focussing limbs to get in is something that JLM always uses really well against my Sim. I think you could probably use it too.

That's awesome feedback, thank you! I can probably do Ryu Sim this evening, just on my way home now, or we can save it for the weekend to give us time to get overly hyped :-)

Joffo! I played a bit tonight and saw your message from a few days ago. Must have missed it when I was having a ciggy, or was going to bed or something. I'd love a srs Rose-Dan match, maybe next week when I'm less insanely tired. Ranked was miserable, I had no reactions and poor Rose got utterly stuffed. I tried to play around with Emo Ryu for a bit but I'd already lost heart.

I think something was wrong with Xbox Live that night; I got lots of "message could not be sent" errors, so it's probably that. Someone replied to my good game message four times when I thought mine hadn't sent. I'm not sure if he was being funny back at me.

I have just Gouken left to cover in a B. I'm dreadful with him. He can't cancel j.mp into his hurricane kick in Super!

I'm going to see Nick Cave tonight. I'm gonna be so disappointed if he doesn't recreate everyone's favourite scene from the Wicker Man remake.
