Who fancies a seriaaaaas ft10/20/30 against my Dhalsim or Honda? I could do with some feedback after my terrible showing at HW.

I'll happily seriaas anyone, any time I'm awake and near my xbox. I currently play a rudimentary Ryu that I'm looking to improve, an increasingly dodgy Oni and a morbidly obese Rufus. Oh, and I have the best Bison on rllmuk. What kind of time are you looking to start punching people in the head?

I'll forgive these changes if they reconsider adding Pitstop 109.

Other Heggwest things I forgot to mention.

FT tings/crumples/dropped combos with Nate!

Watching Alistarr fish for those Ultra setups against people who weren't me.

You are all definitely excellent. Its just a shame that the absent heggfesters couldn't make it.

Also I have spent the morning carefully considering my options in light of recent announcements and am now going to pick up Hakan. Oiled red focus sliding towards you is the new Zangief EX running grab, calling it now.

Also, one day I would like to join you fellows for a HoG visit. To make it viable I would have to plan it a few weeks in advance to make the train ticket more affordable. Please to be letting me know if there is some weekend where this is likely, perhaps in the new year.

Yeah Joe, I'm thinking maybe in a couple of weeks. I'll send that message, find out which evening is best for folks.

JLM, I'm sure we can plan a visit around you coming to London. Let's do it. Might be best if you name some dates in the new year and we'l work it out. I'd need plenty of notice too if it's going to be a weekend so I can get dad cover.

Am I the only one hype for this? It's like Focus+. What could be better?

Just to be clear, Ultra is its own game, right? So we can all go scurrying back to AE2012 if Ultra is a broken shambles, yeah?

I'm excited about it and have been so ever since they announced it would be called "ultra", and I'm also a bit worried it might not be as good in the end. But yes it's just easier to write a lot about the worry than the excitement. They're both there!

I don't see it happening though. It was agreed pretty much universally that AE had all manner of problems and wasn't as good as Super but it still became the main game. There's still a lot to like about Ultra despite my reservations though, so it'd be a shame to go back to the old game on that basis too. I still want the new
characters, stages and a number of the proposed balance changes. Any improvements to the online functionality would be very welcome too of course.

New mechanics weren't something I particularly wanted though (did anybody ask for them? Aside from a few lunatics asking for parries I didn't see any demand for it), and changing the game in such a drastic way surely makes some of those other changes a bit meaningless because the whole meta-game will change. I'm all for trying to fix unblockables, obviously, but red focus and Wultras feel very much like change for the sake of change and I was hoping they'd resist the urge to do that.

Alistarr is right though, despite these concerns I'm still scrambling about for every tiny morsel of info and counting down the days til it comes out because it's new Streetfighter IV.

I should clarify that I'm excited about red focussssssses not Ultra per se.

E: also I don't really think we'll go back to AE. It's only loons like Joffo as he continues his Covered in Bees hunt that still play Super after all.

Ha, just trying it out because I was about to put "both ultras available at once" in that sentence and then realised how many times I'm going to have to type that in the coming months. Do we like Wultras, or can our master pungineers come up with something better?

I am keen to play with the mechanics changes; it's potentially like a whole new game, but in that same instance it is a bit worrying that we getting mechanics changes now.

There will come a point where we won't get anymore updates to the SF4 series and if this is the final incarnation there's a lot of stuff they need to get right with so much change...

I'm cramming for an exam I'm going to take in a month, so I can't afford frivolities like going out, having fun or eating food for a while. I would otherwise though.

EDIT: I'll deffo be there for JLM HoGfest!
