Yus, I shall work my way through that.

Other recent tournaments:

There was a Capcom Cup qualifying tournament in Brazil recently too. Sako, Ryan Hart, KaneBlueRiver and BrenoFighters amongst those in attendance. Details here: http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2013/sep/07/treta-aftermath-tournament-stream-ft-sako-ryan-hart-kaneblueriver-breno-fighters-capcom-cup-qualifying-event/

There have also been some Shadowloo Showdown qualifiers in California: (Justin Wong, Snake Eyes, MArq Teddy, Knives, Clockwork, Killer Kai etc. in attendance): http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2013/sep/07/us-shadowloo-showdown-qualifier-ft-justin-wong-snake-eyez-clockw0rk-knives-hugo101-marq-teddy-and-more/

And Amsterdam: (Louffy, Starnab and a few other big-ish names in attendance):http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2013/sep/07/shadowloo-showdown-european-qualifier-ft-luffy-starnab-bubblanab7-2pac-and-more/

Did you watch that Brazil tournament?

Losers finals, final round, Ryan Hart has Abel cornered and four bars to play with so he does uppercut, focus cancel, hold the focus until the Abel jumps to avoid it and converts with dash, uppercut FADC ultra for the victory. So good. [/snaaaackish].

Shame Abel didn't just roll through him or something though!

GTAV and Wario Ware D.I.Y. turned up yesterday. I played Wario Ware for two hours and GTA for forty minutes.

In Wario Ware I created a game where an A.I. man walks along a platform, then jumps over a pit of fire and collects a mushroom. Just as he reaches the gap, a big yellow button flies onto the screen and starts buzzing around at a frantic speed. Pressing the button causes the man to hurtle straight downwards as if slapped by God's unseen hand. Your goal is to press the button as he tries to make the jump and send him into the fire. If he collects the mushroom you lose. This took about an hour and twenty minutes to create and it was immensely satisfying when I got the whole thing to work as I wanted it to.

I also had a bit of fun with GTA. I still don't like that the characters are such lumbering oafs when on foot though, and I don't know if I dislike the shooting in this or that I just don't like third person shooting generally. I enjoyed it in Crackdown but I think that's the only game where I did. Everything feels so heavy and sluggish. Barely had any time with it though, will hopefully get a proper go on it over the weekend.

Before starting GTAV, I finally finished Bioshock Infinite and was sufficiently mesmerised by the last half hour or so that it made grinding through the last few combat sections feel worthwhile. Good stuff.

Allystah, I haven't watched any of those tournament archives yet. I have lots of stream archiving to do.

Lastly, I need to play Streetfighter really badly. Going to Manchester next weekend and I will most definitely go 0 and 2 if I don't get some practise in soon.

Since buying a 3DS I've played two missions of monster hunter 4, and the first world of Mario 3D Land. I'm really enjoying them both, but for some perverse reason I've actually found peace with my purchase by spending the majority of time with the console watching the Nintendo exclusive episodes of Game Center CX on the eShop. Game Center CX is pretty good, guys.

Also am I right in thinking full games are released on the eShop on the same day as their retail releases? I am feverishly looking forward to playing Pokemon day 1 without having to import. And having it everywhere I go without needing the cart. (I guess I mean the kitchen or living room, it's not like I'd ever take the damn thing out of the house anyway.)

Mario 3D Land is very charming and reasonably fun but not very challenging at all until you get a fair way in and then at a certain point it becomes really good. I'm nearly finished now and it apparently requires me to replay all the levels to get the last little star thing, which is delivering that Dark Souls feeling of being overpowered sheerly through levelling up your skill. It's good.

JLM, The Fall Classic was the best of the recent tournaments. Watch that and maybe the last half hour of the Brazil one and then get on Xbox Live and do some Chun Li practice!

I haven't played in a week. I thought I'd get on yesterday but the person I live with called and said they wouldn't be home til 9 but their dad was coming round to see them, so I sat and talked to him about putting up shelves for two hours instead. Maybe this evening.

I love Mario 3D land so much. Here's a thing, practise the thing, now here's a level to put your mastery of that thing to the test. Don't worry about getting bored of the thing, there will be another thing along shortly. By the way, here is lovely Nintendo music to accompany the things. It is everything I want in a video game. It's why when I decide to not play Streetfighter and can't decide what to play from my pile of unfinished games I'll usually just end up playing Megaman instead.

I rarely bother to 100% games, but with 3D land I went back and got all the star coins and

finished the wonderful (and fiendishly difficult) bonus level you get for doing so.

I wasn't disappointed at all with the Mario 3D World reveal because more of the same with added cat suit already puts it near the top of my must-have list, even if it is more than a little unadventurous.

I'm glad to hear that 3D Land ramps things up to a satisfactory level. I'm enjoying the experience now, but it's kind of difficult to muster the enthusiasm to do more than one level at a time. Also despite being on an analogue slidey thing the movement feels weirdly square, which is putting me off a little. Anyway, I have a long plane journey on monday and would be very happy if I hit that sweet spot during the sleepless aching haze that descends about four hours of intent sitting and fidgeting, to provide some enjoyable distraction. It's also a good thing to have something to do in case I don't feel like subjecting myself to the ode to lens flair that is the second JJ Abrams Star Trek film.

P.s. I just played some Mario and now my eyes keep on trying push the white space into the screen so the text floats on top. Have nintendo broken my eyes forever?

It's rare that I think something like this, but I actually struggle to empathise with people who aren't really excited about 3D World. It looks amazing.

I'm almost up to your spoilered point now. I'm tempted to try and beat all the times it has grabbed from you via streetpass but I need to have another shot at Joffocakes' hateful jetpack joyride score first.

I think Ricky Ortiz might have spoiled the result for me on twitter so, uh, look out for that.

I've not played Street Fighter since getting GTA V. I've barely played GTA V either though, so it's all good. I just sit in the car listening to music. I should have just bought myself a radio.

What are we gonna call our crew?

I watched the Fall Classic top 8 last night and it was very exciting. Direct link: http://www.twitch.tv/teamsp00ky/b/462038941?t=6h5m4s

I have slightly messed up the timing of my leave from work with regards to GTA Online, in that I have time off when it launches but I've said I'll go and visit the folks. I might be able to squeeze in a day or two before I go.

I just had the Daigo v Infiltration result spoiled for me, but I don't mind. I'm now super hyped about watching it.

Um, where can I do that?

Hmm, seems they streamed it on Nico Nico rather than twitch. You need premium membership to watch old broadcasts on there. So, I guess we'll have to wait for some kind soul to put up a filthy youtube version.
