Ultra Street Fighter IV

Home tonight, so I thought I'd get Divekick. After finishing season 2 of 24, I headed to the PlayStation store, where I purchased it, downloaded it, and installed it. Took care of a few jobs. Sat down, launched it, update. "Only a couple of minutes, it says" I thought. 5 minutes later: "It's not moving...", another minute later and I force turn off the PS3. Turn PS3 back on, send error report. PS3 drops a bombshell that it needs to scan everything to see if anything is corrupted, could take 2-3 hours. Make post on rllmuk complaining about lack of playing Divekick.

Remembers Vita mid-post, however I'd forgotten to charge it and it's out of battery. Plugs in to charge, won't turn on until it's got a certain amount of power. Cries. Clicks post.

I'm pretty sure I heard Alistarr apologise for beating me too, which was nice and courteous of him.

Ha, I really didn't deserve that win! Or indeed my one win against Nate. I deserved my win against IgTerminals but only because I played way better than him on the character select screen.

I will be back for more soon. You guys need to speak up though - I could pretty much only hear Joffocakes!

Can do - my recommended Wireless headset has just turned up. Needs to charge for couple of hours then I'll be on for some SF action.

Hope some Mukkers are around.

I've gotta "hit the lab" and "work on some tech" first.

Just been reading about Ultra SFIV and fantasising.

What changes would you like to see for your mains, guys?

For Guile my wishlist is split into 3 catagories.

Essential - 1) Fix Guiles turning glitch.

2) If the above doesn't help it, then sort FK auto correct problem.

3) Build more metre from SBs

I'd be happy with just these 3 fixes tbh.

Good Buffs - 1) More damage on U2

2) Maybe a touch more damage overall, more inline with Super

Daydreaming - 1) Cr. Forward Special cancellable

2) Overhead changed to 2 hits

These last two are a nice fantasy. I really think making cr.Forward special cancellable might make Guile a bit too strong. However it also depends on the buffs and tweaks everyone else is getting. With regard to changing his overhead to 2 hits, it would be Guiles only way of breaking focus without FK charge or metre from outside cr.Mp range. Ryu has a 2 hit overhead, as well as his 2 hit solar plexus strike. Dhalsim's even getting a long range metreless focus breaker.

And that's it. Whilst I am by no means an expert on Guile, I really don't think he needs anything else. He has all the tools he needs. The rest is matchups, and fixing his turning glitch and autocorrect is gonna help a great deal anyway.

I call bullshit. You outplayed me dude. Matchup knowledge is my responsibility. You keep doing your thing and i'll keep trying to work my way out of it.

Which I did a couple of times, even though you still won the round, and I'm actually very happy with that.

Small goals.

I don't believe in tier lists.

Faster startup for Juri's counter. 3 frames feels like forever ;) - reduce the active frames if it makes you feel better.

Bigger hitbox for Juri's U2 so that I can combo off EX divekick with my eyes shut

Ibuki gets Yami-Shigure back, maybe in place of her super

There is on one thing that Capcom need to change about Ultra and that is Dan's taunts need to cause chip damage, just a tiny wee bit but enough for a chip taunt win, it would awesome and true Saikyo.

Other characters that should/could also have chip damage

Dudley's rose

Elf's Viva taunt

Adon's flip taunt thingy

Yang's hair flip taunt

I've read quite a lot of proposed changes to Rose, these are the ones I like, from most important downwards:

Change Ultra 2 input to 2xQCB+K, and make it impossible to cancel Soul Throw from normals

Both easy changes that would stop small mistakes costing Rose big-time

Invincibility on EX Spiral doesn't run out before active frames

Makes it a decent reversal, still unsafe on block so not too big a buff

Give non-EX Soul Throws more invincibility/better hitboxes, and reduce recovery for non-EX fireballs

Most of these are really hard to use effectively

Make cr.mp xx mk spiral combo from further away

Kind of useful, although if it doesn't connect it's usually spaced reasonably safely

Give cr.lk one more frame of hitstun

Makes cr.lk cr.mp a 2-frame link. Would be helpful, but I need practice linking so not massively fussed

More damage overall

Looks like we might get this, and can't complain, but it's not as exciting as other changes

My Dan wishlist would probably involve taunts either doing damage when they connect, or at the very least have them be safe. If I wanna go and all-out daydream then I'd like crouching taunt to be dash or jump cancellable on hit. KRK FADC crouching taunt jump cancelled into a quick air lk.dankick ambiguous crossup would be nice. Probably only about as damaging as FADC neutral jump hp would have been but if done after a get-off-me KRK when Dan's cornered the lk.dankick hitting crossup would know the opponent back into the corner for better positioning.

On the subject of KRK FADC nj.hp; that should work against all characters please. I don't think that's too much to ask.

I did toy with the idea of him having an extra wee blockstring to keep him safe on the ground but he can create enough scary pressure as he is. Dreamworld Dan I'd give a cancellable far standing medium punch. Only EX Gadouken or EX Dan Kicks would likely combo off that anyway. And maybe Ultra 1, heavily scaled, would link after the gadouken for a one bar Ultra setup. Plus he could lk.dankick in for pressure games.

Maybe make his sweep a tiny bit faster? Not too bothered about it but sometimes it's frustrating since it's a muscle memory punish for an opponent's mistake at that range and Dan's just isn't fast enough.

I'd also give him his autograph taunt back as a new Ultra Taunt.

Been Dive Kicking on and off tonight, and finally ventured into ranked. To my amazement, the opponent picked the YOLO gem*. I dive kicked him in the head, won, and got 4 achievements :lol:

*For those not in the know, the YOLO gem gives you a big buff, but means that you're one round away from losing at the start of the match.
