Here is how to deal with Abel's wheel kick online. If your opponent has picked Abel, and he has meter, and your life bar is low, and he is doing that thing Abels do where they walk back and forth pretending to play footsies but actually they're just waiting to try a surprise wheel kick, and then at wheel kick range you see them flinch, mash ultra. Then if the same situation comes up again later, and you're thinking maybe this time they'll try to fake you out by not actually doing the wheel kick, ignore your better judgement and know that they will do it again. Only stop once they've baited it twice.

The only time this doesn't apply is if you've had the "why do all Abels do wheel kick to try and close out rounds?" conversation very recently with your opponent.

Wheel Kick is so much fun. Or at least it was until alistarr revealed the infallible anti-WK tech. People forget how much range it has and so you can be some distance and they won't expect it. It also looks really silly and is probably hard to mimic in real life.

I will be around all evening! Sorry about the rudeness, plops. You did very almost take out his elf with yer Guile though! And you cleanly bested him in another match too. I think the connection issues might have been my side.

wildly impressed with samuel's Rose. A lot of tight link on show and clever pressure that only got beaten because of stupid.

Mr ShinAkuma was going on in work about how excellent Donut's Yun was. I was more impressed with his Makoto antics, once he had adapted to the mashymash. Some lovely comebacks.

joffooooooo.

It was lovely to have a nice dan mirror against you too. I've been trying to play a little bit more of him lately, as a fun side project to learn. Your double fireball FADC combo was delightful. I think I managed to catch you with a few wakeup taunts, which always pleases me.

I don't really know any hit confirms bar cr.lk, st.lk, cr.mp x ex dankicks, and that seems a bit of a waste for a bar of meter.

Also I've been expermenting with cl.hk, cr.mp x dp for a big punish. Is that universal? Loads of dan's combos are character specific, annoyingly, it seems. I do wish his cr.mk wasn't so hilariously bad.

Side project? surley a Saikyo project?

anyway I do know you can negative edge his cr.mk into mk dan kicks, err and that is about it :( rubbish science

G-est of Gs to Messrs Terminals and Alistarr. Less so the nil-points Frenchman who I eventually kicked out of his misery. Poor chap.

Anyway, yes, that was excellent. Nice to get a decent set with Terminals as we've only had the odd game here and there before. And I managed to take a game or two off Alistarr before he got his eye in. Hurrah. Still, blocking a divekick when Rufus has Ultra stocked is utterly terrifying. Every option is the wrong one.

Haha: I sent you a message, accepted your invite, and joined the lobby just in time to see you get a perfect in your first round and then take a single hit (and a trade at that!) in the second. Poor Frenchman. I so wanted to get a perfect of my own but had to settle for an AAA rating instead. Shouldn't have switched to Oni!

I liked in our last couple of games how we both used a turn on the other's wakeup to poke once and then wait for the reversal, but no reversal came from either of us for several seconds before we both decided to do something at the same time. You are clearly shaking the rust off and getting your old powers back, though, so yes, hurrah indeed :-)

Ig, I know you don't mind feedback so today it's that you are still too fond of walking backwards at the start of the round. Stand your ground, soldier!

Also feedback for both of you is to get your microphone situations sorted so I can call you names when you hit me.

Yes, that was great. I was disappointed I couldn't bait a single wakeup EX Jesus out of you because it only hits once and goes over my head which is just about the only chance of my landing full Ultra 1 on Rufus. Bit grumpy they're fixing that, actually.

But yeah I can feel myself improving, though I still fall into patterns too easily and I jump far too much in the neutral game, I think.

I feel like I oughta give IGTerminals some advice now too but the only thing I noticed was that you were a bit too easy to bait into flash kicks by wiggling in and out of crouch block but you'd stopped doing that by the end of the set so I'll shut up.

Anyway, I am pleasingly between deadlines at the moment so will probably be on again this evening if I can tear myself away from Breaking Bad. I am only on season three and work folk keep talking in hushed tones about the new ones so it's only a matter of time before I get something spoiled.

Ahh, season three. I feel it was during Season 3 that the show finally came to understand what it was and where it wanted to go. What a magical season. I'm somewhat envious, in that cliched way, in which I espouse the desire to watch it all again with fresh eyes.

Also I started playing Dishonored again. It's still a cool game. I like being a ridiculously overpowered stealthy man, who, this time, is a bit of a bloodthirsty dick in a stupid mask.

I'm also having some mixed success in Ranked on PC. Rather than searching for opponents of the same skill, which was netting me billions of 0PP 0BP players, I set the filter to ANY skill from ANY region, and I'm coming up against more 2500-3500PP players, most of whom are actually quite beatable! There's the odd 4200PP monster in there too, but who's expecting to win against that? Me, that's who. I quite proudly beat two 4000PP+ players recently, one 15000BP Akuma, and one 16000BP Bipson (amusingly named WorstBipson). I have until GFWL shuts down to make it to 3000PP!

I think season 3 was when they had the new cinematographer start, and suddenly you got all these really intense colours and lingering shots and crazy inventive camera angles. The aesthetic of the show changed subtly, and for the better.

Also i played a load of endless against some guy called joffocakes last night. He had an ok Dan I guess,

I really couldn't stand the first couple of seasons of Breaking Bad, and I generally don't like TV shows anyway (too much filler! like all that relationship stuff in the first couple of series - man! nobody cares about that stuff!) but I think the second half of season 3 and then pretty much all of season 4 are a surprisingly dramatic improvement.
