Ultra Street Fighter IV

I too have yet to clear a complete set of trials for one character. I once had a wild session of going through the trials of some neglected characters (e.g. not Juri, Ibuki, Abel, Blanka) but that was more to help me refamiliarise myself when they come up in random select. :P I think my Ibuki still has the most completed trials, but my combo execution is just generally awful :D

Update:

Not much of an accomplishment, given that I never use him and it's apparently one of the most straightforward groups of trials, but I have an achievement or an icon or something now, so yay. GC Zombie will be so proud. :P

Page 2? "Get Serious!"

I'm finally getting the hang of Gief's lp-Lk link:) That is,I can land it in training about half the time. Lots more training before it's match ready tho:(

And I just realised there was someone in wolverine called "Viper"!

I'm sure someone said they were looking to get some of those fightpads recently. Cannot remember who, though.

I saw that there's been talk recently both of an update to Persona 4 Arena (which I still haven't bought yet) and a new King of Fighters game as well. With Guilty Gear and Killer Instinct that's a load of new fighting games I'll never play. I'm pretty excited about it.

I'm also less than 150BP from B rank with El Fuerte in Super. Once he's done that will leave just Juri, Adon and Gouken and everyone will be covered in Bees, honey.

My screen for rep is a total riot.

I played the secret new version of Lyrical Donut online today, and the man from my work joined us as well. He played mostly shotos and guile, with that Ranked Blanka thrown into the mix. He was alright, actually. Totally reckless to the point of being unpredictable at times. Donut showboated with some double FADC Seth wildness.

Also, Plopboy, yes; there are still enough people on Super to get yer points up. A lot of them actually have AE too, but seem to stick there for their precious points. As a result, you play some 10,000+ point Seth and Ryu players who are just awful.

I like how Joffo and I were kind of arsing about before Mr Akuma joined, then we suddenly got all super-serious when he arrived. Joffo's Dan tore him all kinds of new orifices with Dan. Wonderful stuff.

He picked Ranked Blanka and, well, I still can't deal with Ranked Blanka.

Slightly disappointed that he only whipped out Akuma once while I was in the lobby. I failed all of the focus taunts, too.

Thanks for the games Joffo, but I'm not sure I like your new friend he is very mean and even beat me with Elf, the cheek of it (I was Guile and I have no idea how to down back, I'm all running about and splash and that sort of Jazz). I saw Mister Sam come on just as I was leaving, which was a shame as we haven't had the please of you beating me up recently, sad face.

If you add up all the percentage points, I think whatever's left to get you to 100 is due to them either saying you were more skilled or less skilled than them or you didn't understand the game.

Guys do you like my new avatar, it's Stringer Bell enjoying a delicious ice-cream

I have nothing Street Fighter to report, apart from that my two new flatmates both agree my remaining flatmate looks a lot like Rose (seriously she looks exactly like the character select portrait). I haven't encouraged her to do cosplay yet, I think that might be a bit weird.

I've been playing a game called 7 Wonders with my flatmates a fair bit lately. It's pretty good, but it's no Catan. We're getting Agricola, Pandemic and Sid Meier's Civilization: The Board Game pretty soon though, so I'm excited about Sunday afternoons from here on out.

Also I played some ranked this morning and I didn't want to kill myself. So that was good.

7 Wonders is amazing! I played it at the boardgame night at the Ritzy in Brixton, and I played it again the next time I went down because it's fun. I love the A/B board choice, it's an excellent mechanic and great for new players (i.e. first game you only choose the A board, second game you get to choose).

Agricola is wonderful, but it's a long game and you have to be patient. It's nice in that everyone gets to build their own farm, but if anyone's really crap at it they will know soon enough and spend the whole game catching up, so you should be nice to them.

I like the fact that 7 wonders is less confrontational than Catan (sometimes we all need to loosen the grips we have on each others' necks), and the constant struggle between playing a card you want, or tripping up the person sitting next to you is pretty cool, but I dunno, I don't feel like the starting boards give enough incentive to really vary your playstyle from game to game (or at least they haven't in the few games we've played so far). Also, we played two games of it today, and they both had to be decided by tiebreakers! Who makes a game where drawing is such a common occurrence!? Eh!?

p.s. I just downloaded Eclipse for iOS. I pity the imp who has to get up for work tomorrow.

I love 7 Wonders! I played it no more than an hour ago with family of wife, which would make that approximately the 20th or so time we've played it together over the years. Playing with both of the expansion packs and the promotional stuff (Catan board!) and 7 people means that, at the end, it looks like this:

Glorious madness. I came second by playing science and nothing else. You will never do poorly if you main science. Science is the shoto character of 7 Wonders.

Street Wonders.

Rad. How are you guys all so rich though? My edition of the game didn't even come with 6/9 denomination coins!

EDIT: Looks like you guys have something of an expansion going on, my bad!

Ooh I managed a slightly trollish victory over a decent Akuma player this wkend. I had full super and he was on a sliver of life, so I went for a Spiral xx Super chip win. The Spiral actually hit, but I was mashing so hard that the super came out post-KO, slo-mo flash and everything. I never knew that if you do that, you keep the meter!

joffo, is your wild workmate that shin akuma fellow? He was wildly unpredictable. The amount of times I walked into a completely random uppercut or whatever was just insane.

Also he reminded me that I have no idea how to punish/deal with an abel who just wilds on wheel kick. Is it even punishable on block. Someone tell me this.

Just in case you haven't been in the Wii U thread, all three SF II SNES games are released on the Virtual Wii U thingy this week and if you buy two you get the third free. Which is ace as I can get all three and never play them, though the icons will look pretty and and it will be the only way to play SF on the Wii U as Ono has said that there is no Wii U verion of SFIV planned, boo.
