Cheapest I can find is 65ish. Know anywhere hats doing them for 50?

Do PS3 sticks work on PC?

Sorry, there have been a couple of sales this year for £50ish, but I've been out of the loop of all things Fighting Game for a bit.

Also if you're going to PC Xbox sticks also work on PC.

I thought the ps360 pcb board was meant to be a piece of piss to install? Doesnt it have screw in connectors for the wires to the buttons and the right pinouts for the stick to just plug in? Then its usb to the PS3/360.

Peasy.

If you're going to buy a new PS3 stick I definitely think you should get the Hori VLX Diamond though. Then post pics.

While it's certainly supposed to be easier than soldering, there's still lots of cutting and stripping of wires, hooking up and being accurate. I just personally wouldn't say it was simple, but that's just my opinion dude.

Fair do's, i think the stripping of the wires is the hardest part of it to be honest. And there's plenty of guides for wiring stuff up.

I guess it depends on what dood wants, i think it'd be less than half the cost of getting a new stick (provided you can nab one for about £50). The bonus of putting the PS360 in is that it'd work on either machine with the one usb lead out.

I've used www.akihabarashop.co.jp for parts a fair few times, they're pretty good.

PC until I'm comfortable getting a PS4. I don't want to be the guinea pig for a load of day one new console issues so I'll wait a little while. :)

Pretty much what I'm doing, personally (although not part of the sexy RLLMUK SFIV crowd). My 360 sticks are going to be fine with SSFIVAE and KOFXIII on PC, and as legally gray as it is (I even bought NGBC on XBLA, don't tase me bro), playing Garou on GGPO is a pretty seamless experience compared to some of the garbage SNK netcode that is out there.

I do need to sort out a TE Kitty or something, mind - As much as I love Final Showdown, I'm utter garbage on pad. I'll probably need it when a low-rent copy of P4A turns up so I can double dip for PSN, too.

Still, at least it wasn't the clusterfuck that was the PS2/X-Box era. I'm still snowed under by hundreds of wires and converters that just got stuffed in bags when the generation ended. At least we can reuse HDMI cables.

Donut, are you PS3 ing from now then, being that your live has run dry?

Yeah

Is there a simple way for me to make my Xbox stick work on ps3?

I've got one of these in my HRAP

http://www.focusattack.com/akishop-ps360-multi-console-joystick-pcb/

Or if you're not bothered about 360 compatibility, you could get a cthulhu pcb, which is PS3/PC compatible. I've actually got one around that I'm looking to shift.

Obviously both of these options require wire stripping, but it's much easier than soldering!

Yeah, he was the arch-villain of the community because he was so dominant, often at the expense of hype and entertainment value. He also used to have a bit more of an attitude about him but he's largely grown out of it. He decided to main Rufus in SFIV partly to show that he could be effective rushing down as well as playing a super patient/footsies game. It just so happens that he is so very, very good that he can also squeeze a patient footsies game out of Rufus when a match calls for it.

New games, new characters, a new attitude, the fact that he's often one of the scene's best hopes against whoever the current villain is and a few crowd pleasing moves like his incredibly entertaining Ironfist run in UMVC3 have largely turned public opinion in his favour.

I miss Combofiend. I find myself searching Youtube for Combofiend video's not caring from what year they are.

Can I ask you professionals a question? How come games such as old Third Strike and new Strekken do not get a place in the EVO spotlight? And the logical follow up question: what is Smash doing in the spotlight?

Only about a dozen people outside of Japan play Third Strike* anymore and Strekken still has the stigma of being really dull to watch however the balance patch might have changed it. There are definitely very strong, dedicated SFxT players around but it didn't win enough people over from AE and Marvel to make it to that level, and the delay in patching it and all the DLC nonsense didn't really endear it to anyone. The finals were reasonably high profile though, were they not? I can't remember when they were on in the schedule now. There are so many games they've got to fit in that somebody has to be the bridesmaid I suppose.

* when the organisers ran that donation drive a few months ago where you could vote for your favourite game from a list of ten or so to be featured at Evo this year - the poll that Smash won and Skullgirls narrowly lost out on with both accumulating tens of thousands of dollars in donations - Third Strike had literally a couple of hundred dollars pledged a day or two before it closed. So sad. I would rather watch high level 3S than anything else.

The Strekken finals were on the saturday. It had a good turnout in terms of player numbers but is still rather unpopular with spectators. I very much enjoyed watching the top 8, though

It was very clear early on that nobody was going to beat Infiltration. MOV and Justin are two of the best fighting game players ever and they were both thoroughly outclassed by him. There was one excellent round Justin had where he caught Infiltration with a tick throw, Infiltration rolled on wake up and Justin read it and grabbed it. Infiltration then rolled on wake up again and Justin grabbed it, then Infiltration did it two more times and Justin grabbed both of them to take the round with almost nothing but throws. It was a fun little moment where two stupendously talented players got into a weird triple bluffing contest and Infiltration just reeled back in his chair and started laughing at the end of it.

I don't watch every second of pools in Strekken like I do with AE and usually Marvel but I'll always make sure to catch the top 8 to see what the state of play is because I think it's a hugely underrated game.

Smash got the spotlight because its players fought for it. Thoroughly, thoroughly deserved and they made Smash this year's KOF in terms of cementing its place in the line up. A great turnout and an incredibly enthusiastic and passionate player base with a strong commitment to preserving their beloved old game. A lot of players tend to talk about reviving Third Strike as opposed to taking steps towards doing it. Everyone claims to love the game but when the time comes to vote/donate/enter tournaments the numbers are pitiful. Thankfully Japan (and particularly the mighty Kuroda of course) is still churning out 3S content and playing at a standard that is out of this world, so there's always an opportunity to get your fix.

Hello everybody, I missed EVO as I was queue for a Dumbo ride at Disneyland. Trust me it was a long queue for a short ride. I'm not sure why they would put on Evo at the same tim as my holiday but there you go, though I was very pleased to see

Xian win

I'm not surprised about the Ultra line line up, though it will be interesting how they work within the world of SFIV.

SFIII third strike is a weird one, it has one of the most iconic moments in SF history but I feel that more people like the way SFIV plays. Is it that SFIV is easier on execution? not sure personally. And I really don't know which game I prefer, I do play SFIV more but Sean is a character I would like to be most proficient with. Even with my limited skills I can see the difference between the arcade version and SFIII:OE.

I am very sad that Sean isn't in Ultra, it would be awesome if his Second Impact version was included and shame on all of you for not mentioning the man in yellow earlier, and no mention of a basket ball chip win, have you lost all that is good and true in SF playing, I think you have, shame on you all.

As sean won't be the fifth character, I want a bear, with a head butt.

Have you even slept since the weekend or have you just been grinding out the guile themes on xbox live?

It's barely been three days and I already miss fighting games so much. Maybe I will get to play again next week :-(

Ha, I've only played two relatively short sessions, I just happened to have two tremendous comebacks during those. Also I have introduced another friend to Mount Your Friends since the weekend. It is soooo good.

When vanilla came out I mained Sagat and won probably about a third of my matches (which I was okay with) but found out he was considered OP so when super came out I decided to main Cody (because he's cool). I can't remember the exact stat but I think it was 90 matches fought with 5 wins. I know 90 matches for you guys isn't even 1% of your total matches played but when I remember that Cody foray I get genuinely embarrassed.

Absolutely love the game though, I remember when I finally got Cody's 24th trial, half an hour a day for 10 days it took me. One thing I learned from SF is persistence, no 15 minutes to learn a 10 hitter like in tekken.

Wanky as it sounds I think I had a little Street Fighter epiphany earlier. I went from my recent inconsistent nonsense with Rose to solid play and some excellent wins, and I understood what was working, too. I know it's all part of that up and down learning curve but if you're on at some point soon I will FIGHT YOU

Yeah thanks a lot JLM for beating me up over and over again.

Seriously, GGS! I have to say I was getting a bit flustered towards the end there, having literally run out of options. Fucking Sim man.

I'm consciously trying to force myself to use focus more than I usually do (ie- never).

Also, I really need to try not to freeze up when Abel's elbow actually hits :D

I don't usually use Ryu. He seems fun. Can't believe you punished his sweep with E.Ryu's ultra twice!

EDIT: um, what buttons should I be pressing with Ryu? All I know is c.mk>fireball haha. God I'm so rubbish at Street Fighter.

Camel, press all of ryu's buttons, as they're lovely.

Specifically, don't wild on sweep, as it's minus infinity on block and can be punished with loads of nasty things. Both cr.lp and cr.mp combo into sweep, so use those at close range and combo into sweep with them. It's a nice easy 1f link.

when crouch teching, it's ususally a good idea to tech with lp, lk and mp, since both cr.lk and cr.mp come out in 4 frames, but cr.mp has a better hitbox and can combo into itself, cr.mk and sweep.

It's usually best to end punish combos with a hurricane kick, so that you knock your opponent closer to the corner, though hp srk does tons of damage.

cr.hp is a nice all purpose anti-air.
