Ultra Street Fighter IV

I can't believe we're getting new content for SFIV, I was just thinking today that I've finally stopped playing it and started thinking about seeing if there's any chance of a final update or any more characters. Do we know what time the trailer will be online?

I wonder which versions they'll support now online? Will there be choices for SSFIV, SSFIV AE and the new version, reverting to the the most recent common version opposing players have?

The panel also didn't seem to clarify whether SSFIV players upgrading directly to the new version will get the AE characters with their upgrade, unless I missed something. Or any real clarification of how it's going to work for people who are playing with a disc version of SSFIV which they bought the AE DLC for. I'm sure it will be fine, but would have liked to have heard.

I'm going with the 5th character being Ingrid from Capcom Fighting Jam. It's the only character I can think of that hasn't been in a 'Street Fighter' game yet would probably fit into the universe

She's in Zero 3 isn't she? Or Upper or something.

Can anyone tell me what sorta time the AE stuff is on each of the Day 1 & 2 archives?

Most of the day on day 1 for the srkevo1 stream. None at all on day 2.

The last few hours of the day 1 archives are the AE quarter- and semi-finals. Everything before that is pools. There are also AE semi finals towards the end of the day 1 archive on srkevo3.

In all seriousness, Strider is potentially broken in a largely hand-to-hand game. Any Darkstalker doesn't really make sense from a thematic point of view and that only leaves Rival Schools and Powerstone as appropriate non-SF franchises to pillage, with the possible exception of Haggar, who is probably out due to being too similar to other members of the cast.

I'd like to see Wang Tang in, with full Super Saiyan mode included, but of the Rival Schools roster, there's someone who really belongs in Street Fighter...

It doesn't matter if you have Super or AE. You end up with the same content after upgrading.

Caught up on AE, amazing stuff!

What happened to Justin Wong though?

Infiltration vs PR Rog was incredible. Xian looking very, very srtong though and is my favourite to win.

Sent to losers by Tokido, then made it a long way into semis before going out to Laugh

AE finals are on Monday morning our time.

Haitani:

I've loved watching this guy, I'd be happy for him, Daigo or Sako to win overall.

Yep.

Nice to see so many of the 'gods' make it to top 8. Disappointed to see no euromans there though.

I want to see Haitani knock Infiltration out and go on to win because Infiltration's too dry and also because Mak. He probably won't win it though, because Mak :(

Daigo it is, then.

I've got about four hours of AE left to watch. I'm at the stage where they split winners and losers top 32 over two streams so am alternating between matches to keep up. So many amazing matches - I reckon I should be finished tonight or tomorrow night ready to watch top 8 on Tuesday night as I'll never stay awake to watch it live.

It'll mean no coming in here tomorrow and Tuesday day and I guess staying off of Facebook too as I'm sure SRK will post some spoilerific stuff.

I wish it was Evo every weekend!

The longer interview with Evil Geniuses suggests the fifth character reveal will be later in the year, rather than later today alongside the official trailer:

The also talk about adjusting Rufus' EX Messiah Kick to stop it going over certain crouching characters, which is great, and lowering the damage on his followups.

Once again, KoF stealing the show. Well I say show, no way on Earth I'm staying up to watch AE tonight/tomorrow morning. Come on Gabe, I know it is a sale but release the PC version already so I can play it. Really tempted to watch Smash after that mind.

I've got a new level of respect for James Chen after watching hours of Marvel today - he didn't commentate on any of it but none of the guys who did did a great job of explaining what was going on, or the terminology they were using the way he does in AE streams that makes you groan. I take for granted in a Street Fighter stream that he will chime up every thirty minutes or so explaining frame traps, what FADC is and counter hits in the tone that most people would use talking to an old dog or slow child, and I missed it when all that Marvel was flashing in my face sometimes and men were getting excited and I didn't understand.

Also I saw him bodying fools in that ST side tourney and it was funny seeing a chubby, sharp-dressed man in his 30s get politely hype. It's somewere in here - eleven hours of Super Turbo

The KoF games were fucking intense! I am not the biggest KoF fan but it is brilliant to watch. I still don't really get the appeal of Melee as a competitive game but that is because I am proper shite at it.

Gutted I am going to miss the SSFIV finals as its at about 1am and I got an early start :(
