Just played seven or eight games against a man called S7013N RS.

Pretty decent Akuma, 2850PP, 10K+BP. The problem is he's one of those vortex guys who has great setups but has no idea what to do once he's put on the back foot, and then noticeably gets flustered when he can't get his vortex started.

He won the first few games, then I won one. He waited until the character select screen timed out. Maybe he was trying to stop any momentum I might have gained? I dunno. He won one though, so I guess it worked, except after that I won three or four in a row, and he did the same thing each time, you can only outpsych imp once, son! It's funny, the more I was winning, the more he started to do random uppercuts and missed combos. Anyway, he kicked me from his lobby, and I sent him a GGs anyway, feeling a bit joffo-like (no, I didn't call him sweetie, to my chagrin).

And as if by magic, he sent me the following message, confirming everything I thought about him just as I was typing this out:

So basically what he's trying to say but doesn't have the words for is "you beat me at the metagame and I really don't like that!". Excellent. I really really like when people send salty messages because they can't beat a certain strategy. It's so fun!

I think he didn't like the fact that I was blocking things, which is fair; it does get in the way of landing fancy combos.

Also if anyone wants a new arcade stick it appears that they're wildly cheap on Argos, for some reason.

Surely blocking against most Akumas means Demon Flip grab or Demon Flip whiff > land > throw?

Yeah, I ate a few flip grabs, but those don't hurt as much as Demon Flip Kick (the best move in the Street Fighter Tony Hawk crossover that never happened) s.HP x Fireball FADC s.HP LK.Tatsu HP.Shoryu, y'know.

They really really need to sort out the whiff recovery on palm, it's just stupid. And give him evil ryu's teleport, while they're at it.

To be fair Akuma is hardly the happiest go lucky sort of characters, I think he could do with some nice new jolly taunts and maybe some clothes that aren't ripped. Something sports casual maybe, that might cheer him up a bit.

The VS one used to be £150 and the other Madcatz one used to be £100. Both are really good sticks even if they do have SFxT artwork.

Oh god, the killers were out on ranked tonight. It didn't help that I was trying to talk to my flatmate about Thatcher. I took a round off an A+, 8th ranked Hawk player before he destroyed me though, that was fun. He was so angry and merciless.

Also I got beaten by a Chun player called "ebenezer good" so I sent him a message saying "chun lizer good :)".
