Ultra Street Fighter IV

I saw mister cockcheese playing street fighter 4 the other week, so perhaps he's finally given up on mind-numbingly intense 3rd person action games and bomberman

I was well good at Bomberman back in the day. Even Mr Twig could do nought but explode when I was at the top of my game.

JOFFO. YOU MEANT TEN FEWER YEARS. YEARS ARE A DISCRETE QUANTITY.

The fact I don't even know what you mean by "DISCRETE QUANTITY" simply proves to me that my dad was always a better alcoholic than he was english teacher. Coatbridge ya bas!

I don't really know anything about Belgian beer, but I love the blue labelled Delirium if anyone's ever had that.

I've had that Delirium; they sell a couple of those at a wee beer shop called The Cave in glasgow (alongside occasional bamberg smokebeers). My new love is Kostritzer, a blackbeer from Germany that tastes a bit like treacle or burnt toffee. I'm going to Leeds to meet up with Camel's pal so he can introduce me to similar beers I might like. I did have one belgian beer in Texas, an Ommegang, and it was excellent. When drinkin' socially I generally have Leffe, which the Ommegang tasted similar to, but that's a mass produced InBev beer I'm sure Camel's mate would rather scoff at than quaff.

I'm gonna get some Schlenkerla Rauchbier for my cousin to try when he comes over to get beaten at Street Fighter this weekend so I can act like I have a smugly refined palate when he finds it utterly disgusting.

I just looked up Ommegang. A Belgian brewery in NY. How odd.

You're genuinely welcome to join us next time I visit him, Joffo. I had a Taras Boulba when I got back on his recommendation but didn't really like it, truth be told. That said, my favourite type of beer - geuze - I hated the first time I tried it.

He was really pleased with the craft beer I brought him all the way from Kyoto.

Er, Street Fighter.

Woah. I didn't know it wasn't genuinely Belgium belgian; it was listed a bar called The Flying Saucer's extensive beer menu as belgian and I just took their word for it. There were some Scottish Beers from Oregon though, apparently.

I'd totally play Street Fighter/Darkstalkers/Skullgirls tonight with you folks if I weren't so infatuated with my new Nintendo toy.

The last page has been wildly bewildering, I understood you lot more when you were talking about frames and combos n' aaaall that.

I had a burger in the Gourmet Burger Kitchen in Leeds once, the Oreo Milkshake was truly splendid. Does that count as a thing?

Joe which flying saucer was that? Is there a number of them in texas? I went to the one in fat sour houston.

San Antonio. I've been to one other in Fort Worth's Sundance Square. Looks like there's loads, but mostly in Texas, including one in a place that might well be a Mario level called Sugar Land.

Frame Trappist.

Lager Uppercut.

Heineken.

I went to Leeds the other week and it looked almost exactly the same as Manchester: there was even this really familiar looking area which is kind of hard to describe (I should have taken a picture because I have a great picture of the area in Manchester it looks like) where there was this wall and in front of it there was a 22" monitor standing in front of a TV and a couple of TE sticks on the floor, and Rufus was getting killed by Chun Li.

Probably go back there again some time so I'll see if I can get some comparison shots for you guys.

Oh, and I'll be playing this videogame in a little while if anyone happens to be around. Just need to marinade some tempeh in hot sauce and garlic and assorted herbs and spices before I settle down. Gotta do something special to banish the thought of pulled pork and burgers THANKS GUYS.

I'm having a vegetarian meal tonight Alistarr, just like you! It's a sort of spiced cous cous concoction topped with some odd, firmer tofu replacement protein. I'm sure it will be excellent!

Also, my 32gig USB flash drive arrived but it is too wide to fit into the rear USB port on my 360 and I have accidentally snapped a bit out from one of the front two, so getting Street Fighter on it would be pointless unless I decided to always plug my stick into the rear (Oo-er! -Ed), which I simply cannot be bothered doing. Oh! Unless I leave it plugged in but take it out by the quick disconnect! Good idea Chuffy!

There just doesn't seem to be much point to Leeds once you've already spent some time in a real city.

Also, the fact that Dan is a dickhead is one of the best things about him.

EDIT: My Miiverse drawing of a fat Captain Falcon with his hand on his gut saying Falcon Paunch has 9 "Yeahs!". I love the Wii U.

Alistarrrrrrrr, I'm going to pop on at about six o clock greenwich mean time.

Apparently I misremembered the recipe and it involves much more cooking than I'd optimistically expected, so I'll probably not be around until after dinner now :-( if you don't have exciting plans this evening then I will harangue you and/or anyone else with invitations at around 19.30.

I made a thing, although it needs Flash, and the host will probably act like an arse when you try and visit it:

It's a randomiser that picks SF character names, but you can choose to omit certain characters (by clicking their names) if, for example, you're shit at triangle inputs, or you don't like Dan. Since my PC is near the 360, I can ban everyone except Juri/Ibuki/Blanka and then use this instead of random select. And yes, I have a lot of free time today.
