Joffo, I've only played you a couple of times in endless lobbies but seeing as nobody else is biting can I give your copy of KOF a new home?

ps does it have taunts?

Sold!

It certainly does have taunts. They're even done with HK+HP, just like the game you'll play instead!

PM me yer secret code which directs postmen to your house and I'll send it off your way on the morrow, good sir!

Also also; is this Strider sequel for XBLA real? Y'all like Strider, yes?

Perfect! I promise to play KOF for an undetermined amount of time before playing more Street Fighter instead

Everyone is broken in Fighters History, it's such a great game. I thought Jean was unstoppable at Heggfest I, then at Heggfest II Allystah discovered that the little Makoto-esque girl has an SPD that does about 70% damage and you can combo into it. But yes, Karnov is the best/worst of them all. Ballooooooon.

Joffles, I too already own a copy of KOFXIII. I do play it offline with my real life SNK fighter friend. It's such a beautiful game and is everything KOFXII should have been in terms of having a fleshed out roster and good amount of functionality and features. Like every SNK game though, I do find myself bemoaning the characters they've left out no matter how good the roster is. Even 98 and 2002 Ultimate Match with their huuuuge rosters still have notable omissions.

I will play KOFXIII with rllmuk mans if the netcode can be trusted.

Excellent purchase! I've never seen a PAL Version, are they rare? I remember reading about it in Super Play and thinking it sounded amazing. Played it years later via emulation and had no idea what was going on.

I played some Dark Stalkers 2 challenges last night - Fish man has a mental back-dash cancel that you can dash-cancel back into a jab - short that you can cancel into a back dash cancel loop. I couldn't do it.

Plopboy is on a quest to buy all the fighting games.

I too had no idea how to play that when I rented it from our local video shop many, many years ago. Another baffling SNES fighter was the Dragonball Z one where it would go splitscreen when the fighters moved too far apart.

EDIT: Have you got TMNT Tournament Fighters, Plop?

I always wanted Ranma 1/2! It looked glorious in probably the same Super Play issue Jiro saw it in. I don't know if I even played it emulated.

I did play a lot of Turtles Tournament Fighters though. I think there was a lass called Karai who jumped off the wall and punched your head a lod from the air just by pressing two buttons. We had a sort of ban on using her; you got punched in the arm every time you used that move.

I always thought the lass, maybe called somthing like Aska, said "tablecloth" "kitchenette" and "put it away!" with her special moves, but I watched it on youtube a month or so ago and maybe it sounded nothing like that at all.

I never tried the Mega Drive version either; I think it was quite different? Also, I once rented an Ultraman fighting game. I think it had an odd quirk in that you had to land the final blow as a special move or something. Attacks did barely any damage. I'm certain I hated it.

They turn up now and again, it isn't the most common of SNES games but it is difficult to gauge how rare they are or whether people just don't want to part with them.

Err yes :)

I have my cousin coming over for some gamin' on Saturday. I'll probably bust out some poverty fighter action on the SNES emu. Though he did say the other day that fighting games achieved all they could in the 90s and are awful. This may be because he is like an even more intense scottcr and will only play Nintendo. There have been no Nintendo console fighting games since the 90s I guess.

My Wii U just arrived! Do any of you lot have one?

I've always kind of wanted a virtual boy. It would make a good ornament. Kind of like those shit sculptures around the house in Beetlejuice. Saw one for £45 once and was tempted.

EDIT: Also, ace Plops. Let's share nintendo names when I get mine set up!

Yay! I'll join you in the Superplay love.

Will Overtons cell-painted covers were outstanding.

Had USA snes cart of TMNT:TF, it was awesome. Played it a lot, first snes fighting game that had supers. 2 button supers at that!

Played and loved the Ranma games (I think there were more than 1, but on phone so pain to search internet when writing this), and all DBZ games, but then DBZ has always had a special place in my heart, especially back then buying pirated vids in Chinatown for £15 a pop, in Japanese with Chinese subs. And adverts, when the episodes had been recorded from Japanese tv.

You guys all appear to have lived my gaming life. Noone I know even bought mags.

I never bought Super Play but still have boxes full of Mean Machines, NMS, MMS, Zzap!64, Crash, C&VG, Big K, PCG, YS etc. I used to buy every issue I could. Madness keeping them really as they're in a bunch of inaccessible boxes under our stairs. One day when I'm old(er) though, I like to think I'll sit and leaf through them all.

Excellent. I don't think I'll get Tekken for it. I might though. Will I? Probably not. I've already got another copy on xbox not to play and I don't really have time to not play another copy. Though I could dress Bob up as Wario or whatever. Oooh.
