Do you think we'll get some new folk wandering in here who have picked up SFIV in the sales?

Hello!

I think there's some new folk on the game in general. I know this because I actually won a game in ranked last night.

Hey! Welcome to a lovely thread full of lovely people who are certain to be very willing to give you tips and advice on starting out. Here's one to get things rolling: If you ever see a clinical sonnuvabitch called JasonC85 online; run.

I picked this up in the sale (SSFIV:AE) and will be undoubtedly be terrible, I'll hopefully be able to pick up some pointers from you guys. I also grabbed Tekken TT2.

Happy birthday to all involved :)

Welcome to the best thread on rllmuk. Don't worry about how good you are; we welcome everyone :) Also congrats to the birthday peeps!

Lol. Happy Birthday Camel! Get anything good? I got the boxed set of Curb Your Enthusiasm, a lego minifigure, a couple of swank Ts and a packet of jelly cherry things. Awesome.

Spookily, when opening the minifig I said "Maybe it will tell my future" and it was like a gypsy with 2 tarot cards.

My gf made me breakfast in bed and told me she's taking me out somewhere for a big surprise tomorrow night. Then she gave some little things to open - a Deathnote figure, some Deathnote playing cards, a little Pac-Man arcade cabinet thing (I think it has sweets inside), a Mario capsule with a Mario keyring inside, a Deathnote keyring and some pocky sticks, all wrapped in animal themed wrapping paper. And a birthday card that folds up into a robot. I swear she thinks I am 5 years old. To be fair, I am basically 5 years old.

Now I'm worried about tomorrow. I hope she hasn't bought us tickets to see The Wiggles.

Is it Plopboy's birthday too? Happy boythday Plopboy!

Oh and then I went and had lunch with my parents who gave me some money and I bought some new threads and now I'm going home to do basically nothing which will be bliss. I may be online for birthday beatings later.

I'd like to clarify that my post was a response to Donut's Outrun post. I wasn't referring to Camels birthday celebrations as "Life was a Bore" far from it, it sounds tremendous. Especially the pacman sweets. I'm officially jealous.

edit: Did anyone in here get L4D2 in the recent cheap-a-thon? I need other fools to die with.

You can't talk about Outrun 2 music without mentioning this:

And yes, the guitar mix is better. Well, sort of. I also happen to play various Outrun tunes on the acoustic thanks to their undisputed catchiness. One day I'll play music that isn't from a child's computer game thing.

Well, 5-0'd by Sith, can't say I'm not disappointed by that, but that's the way it goes. Good luck in the finals Sith and JLM!

No disrespect to Sith but a big wow there and we may get this finished before spring arrives.

Happy birthday Jiro and Camel! And plopboy as well, obviously. I hope every aspect of your lives is excellent and also I hope you eat nice cake.

I found a blog online where someone mentioned a San Antonio based SSFIV AE cab but he doesn't bother to say where. I've wanted to walk into an arcade and actually beat someone at a game since The Wizard. I'd even wear a black leather jacket and chew a toothpick while doing it for maximum 80s badass. And I'd be wearing sunglasses the while time too, obviously.

In 2002 or so I worked in Manchester pretty often and would go to Jenny's to play Third Strike. I always played on a pad so a stick was a nightmare and also I wasn't actually any good at all (back in the days when I thought cancelling a hard punch into a shoryuken was some secret, magical extra-hit shoryuken that happened at random) so I got utterly destroyed.

Back when Street Fighter 2 was everywhere we had one in a local shop and I played that against some humans too; my mum using the stick and my 10 year old sister mindlessly mashing on the buttons. I was Honda, I think, and they were definitely Dhalsim. I lost then too.

I'll have my revenge!

CrossCounter seem obsessed with putting up videos of matches that happened weeks ago preceded by five minute advertorials for things that have nothing to do with fighting games. It's a shame because even latter day shows like gooplays were good fun.

Whilst I still visit the channel page now and then it's been a while since I've really been interested in new content - the last really good thing was probably the holiday Excellent Adventures. Oh, and I miss CC Asia as well (don't laugh); it's always nice to watch Xian winning and Zhi dropping science. That said, I still haven't checked out Mike Ross' Neighbourhood, so that might keep me entertained in the meantime...

Your Doaremon cake sounds great Camel. I'm kinda of bemused by Doraemon - love the art style, but have no idea about the character. I suspect he's a space cat who pokes people up the arse or something. Am i right? I've got a Wonderswan Colour with copies of Gunpey and a Doraemon game that I've literally never played (the Doraemon game obviously - you can't get me off Gunpey) for shame.

I also know nothing about Doraemon but she recognised him on a cake she spotted in this amazing bakery in Chinatown do she bought it.

He looks like a French Doraemon with his new beret.

Edit: whoops geldra already nailed that one haha
