Someone who has played more rez than me please explain how the replayability of it works. It seems so short, but fun! Can I not shoot those end of level warp things to stay in the current stage, is score attack different somehow? How do I get to stage 5? How terrifying is it to play the game while taking heroic quantities of lsd? How do you do the 'special moves'? Why is the low-frequency vibration on one of my 360 controllers broken?

Yes but your analysis rank will be poo, and yes it is a bit.

How do I get to stage 5?

Complete levels 1-4

How terrifying is it to play the game while taking heroic quantities of lsd?

Depends how hard you are

How do you do the 'special moves'?

Do you mean the smart bomb?

Why is the low-frequency vibration on one of my 360 controllers broken?

Because you are too rough with your toys

If you complete level 5 you open up other modes and the such.

My bad I forgot this info

Q: I finished areas 1-4, but area 5 didn't unlock! Help!

A: You need to get 100% analyzation on all 4 areas. To get 100% analyzation, you need to shoot every password protector that shows up, and then shoot the network opening (cube) 8 times to go to the next layer level. It's pretty hard to miss these, if you pay attention you should get them all no problem. You should be on layer level 10 before the boss if you did it right.

I just woke up! Woooah on the job news Hegg; all the best with your new project! I'm sure Heggfest will be called Heggfest forever anyway, since it wouldn't feel right otherwise.

Also Haggar I have not had Smash Burger yet but I did have an A1 Thick n Hearty burger from Whataburger already. Also, I've not finished Rez, but Radlord does have the trance vibrator for it and I played it on PS2 with that. I should probably get the XBLA version.

I am in San Antonio. There's a Smash Burger within walking distance and Texas walking distance is about 10% of what regular humans call walking distance. I will try a smash burger. 6th Street is full of sudents and hipsters and brodudes and regular people, so I'll be going to some elsewhere which has the same people but in smaller numbers. I might make a wee visit to the newly renovated Arcade UFO as well since I didn't even bring the 3DS version of Street Fighter with me and I'm already getting shaky from withdrawal.

I bet Hegg's new project is remaking SSFIV with all of Guile's bad matchups and throws removed.

Very interested in your new project Hegg, rather selfishly as a programmer scrub thinking about doing the same thing one day but also because you're a dude and I hope it goes smoothly! Keep is updated! Sorry to hear about bad news.

If I ever get to the stage where I want people to try out terrible game prototypes you guys are going to get harassed whether you like it or not! :)

Has anyone tried Phantom Breaker on XBLA? Just had a very quick go and it looks flippin' lovely! Pixel art up the wazoo, side scrolling beater in a similar vein to Guardian Heroes. It does have a slightly cringey cutesy style (with fully animated pixel boobs, grrreat). So err yeah?

Edit: reminds me a little of the Scott Pilgrim game but turned up to eleven and with set planes (which I guess allows for special move inputs).

I really wanted to like Scott Pilgrim but found it horribly difficult. Apparently the key is to grind a bit and keep buying stuff from the shop (stuff which I never really figured out what it does) but yeah I dunno, feels wrong. Think I need to go back to it at some point.

Really like Double Dragon Neo, but weirdly found the first level much harder than the rest of what I've played so far. I really liked Batman: The Brave & The Bold on the Wii by the same developers which is probably far too easy, but it's excellent.

Sounds like I need to check out Phantom Breaker.

Back on topic, I have Rez on three consoles and I've never *really* put enough time into it. It's lovely of course, but I've never unlocked stage 5. I should get onto that really. And then open my copy of Child of Eden.

I suck at opening games.

You need to grind in both Pilgrim and Neon, really, the former more so than the latter. I loved both eventually. Neon is excellent in co-op, as Cale will attest. So will this screenshot:

Also I have spent most of the last week or two playing NBA 2k13. It is excellent for many reasons, including the way you can choose a nickname that the commentators call you. The other night I changed it from 'Big Dog' to 'Mr Fundamentals' and I think of you guys every time it comes up.

I should play some Street Fighter at some point, really. Or at least turn the Xbox on.

I unlocked stage 5 on good old rez last night. It's pretty good. I definitely need to play it one night when I come back from a club somewhere and am wildly buzzing. It's so easy to just get immersed in it and bob your head up and down in time with everything for hours.

Also hegg please can your new project be an app that's just an extremely high definition picture of your face with a little slider, and sliding the slider up and down magically grows/shrinks the beard, and you can zoom in really really close to inspect & luxuriate in the beard.

Also (also) I am going skiing tomorrow. Hooray!

Oh god, skiing. I didn't realise this was *that* sort of a thread. We'll be discussing range rovers next.

Actually, I've never been skiing. I did go snowboarding once. In Milton Keynes. You can't buy class.

I am drinking delicious Belgian beer tonight at De Hems. Can't wait. I have been off the beer for a couple of months due to a health scare which turned out to be 'just' a fatty liver. Hooray. I think. I won't be handing a shoe over so that I can drink Kwak from a silly glass tonight, because I'm not very keen on Kwak.

Kwak.
