Some delicious rage at my one-handed Seth antics because I was one the phone:

I think that guy is/was on my friends list and I think the thread may actually have discussed him and his female avatar before - never struck me as a ragemailer. Good work!

Yes, excellent write up Allystah. You are welcome back any time as long as you can deal with my ghetto living conditions. Maybe try to get to another SFO tournament in future.

I will definitely come again. I think I'm going to try and bask in the glory of not getting bodied for at least a little while before I risk going back for another tournament, though - I'm not 100% sure I'm ready yet for the authentic tournament experience of paying £5 to get beaten twice and go home.

Either that or, you know, I could man up and learn to play better and come back every month. Dudes all seemed like good people with whom to hang out anyway.

What time are these Sunday casuals, JLM? I'm in Leeds the weekend after this one, although I'm staying with an anti-videogames friend, so I might offend him if I sneak off to play fighting games.

11am-ish until 5pm-ish.

Ooh Jojo's is in this week's XBox deals. 800 points from tomorrow.

VF5:FS is going to be 400 points as well, which is tempting me yet again. And JLM's Official Second Favourite Game (after Real Steel), Sonic: The Fighters, will be just 160 points!

I actually went and played that Lost Odyssey game for almost exactly an hour. You play as We Need To Talk About Kevin while he gets stuck into some baddies on a big battlefield by pressing A a lot. The you kill a starfox boss instead for some reason and the sky cracks open and lava pours out, killing everyone except Kevin, because he's too cool to be bothered. Some soldiers are bothered about it though and force Kevin to go with them to speak to The Important Old Men you always get in RPGs. They don't seem at all scared of the fact you're wildly powerful and immortal.

It's a good RPG so far because nothing has happened really, but I've got to press A to hit stuff and press A to collect items and Press A to talk to everyone exactly three times to make sure they aren't going to say something new that you'll miss even though you didn't actually read what they said the first three times. Lost Odyssey is one of the best games I've ever played. Just loses out to FFVII because, well.. it's FFVII, for God's sake.

Lost Odyssey is pure joy from beginning to end. Everything about it, and I mean everything, is perfectly pitched, and technically polished. Kaim is an excellent main character. Just make sure you properly read all the story/ memory pages.

Played, loved, and finished in 3 weeks with 95 hours on the clock. I could not put it down.

Ah. Lost Odyssey. I cannot recommend it enough.

I liked FFVII. I thought it was very good. Lodyysseeey seems pretty good so far though; For a 4 quid game I'd barely heard of I wasn't really expecting something so polished. That's one pound per disc! Maybe I'll play it again when I'm at my lowest ebb. I am leaving for big fat Texas in mere hours though; TACOS.

I doubt I'll street fight there. Unless the IGN IPL appearance at South by Southwest has Street Fighter. I doubt it does. I'll definitely StreetPass. That's the next best thing.

I've changed the stick on my TE twice, once for a Hori and then again for a Sanwa cos I didn't like the Hori. My original Sanwa started not going right randomly... no idea how long I'd had it. When did SF2HDR come out? 2008. Good God. TE was a year later or so I think.

edit: Mr Hegg! Exciting times (and some sad ones too by the sounds of it). I quit my job (a very safe and secure job) last year and worried I was being foolish - but it was the right thing to do even though the thing I thought I was going to do didn't work out and I've ended up doing something else... Life's too short so well done for taking the plunge. Any help or support I can give is yours.

Good luck Mr Hegg sir, I've changed jobs more times than I would have liked but I have always ended up better off, though not neccassarly financially :)

Mr Hagg stick changing should be fun and fairly straight forward but you will need some time to get used to the stiffness of the new one.

With respect to a venue I might have an idea but it would be near Milton Keynes which isn't as easy to get too as London Town.

In more exciting news I have just thrown up my breakfast and am getting itchy :(
