Ultra Street Fighter IV

Yes. I do things like "kick which almost hits opponents in the balls because I'm not quite warmed up enough to hit the head yet", "back kick which would never be of any use in a real fight" and my personal favourite "double over in agony when uppercutted in the stomach". Recently I have also been bellowing "nosebleed" and fleeing to the toilet quite a lot, presumably because of a knacked blood vessel due to my wild cocaine habit.

I do know a bit of actual real fighting too, though, so it's all ok.

Although I suppose you could argue that absurdism posits that there is no absolute meaning to life or existance, which there allows each man to create his own meaning and pursue it accordingly, and I guess you could argue that a man could find meaning in beating other men at a computer fighting videogame. But frankly that would take a ludicrous amount of time and effort which would otherwise be devoted to playing street fighter.

My justification is it's fun.

Also, I wanna get good at something. I don't need to be the best, and the something isn't important, but I have tried many things and have decided that sitting in front of a tv is my favourite way to get good at something.

Haha, I actually kind of do. Every time I do a punch or a kick or whatever I kind of go "OOSH" in a thoroughly intimidating manner. Also whenever I'm taking a hit. It kind of helps to regulate the breating and stops you from tensing up too much. And it's fun. The volume also depends on the button you pressed when inputting the command for my kick.

I think I just go for the common or garden "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH" in most lobbies after someone's done something particularly awesome.

Camel where does your son do his taekwondo? The man who runs my classes used to be british champion back in the early 90s.

Also taekwondo is the most excellently useless martial art in a real fight. You just really precisely and lightly kick the mugger in the head and then they look a bit angry and beat the crap out of you, because you have no idea how to stop actual punches or anything (hold down/back)

The thing that makes me laugh about Taekwondo (or my son's class anyway) is that there is none of the spiritualism that you get in something like kung-fu (although they do teach the kids about respecting people and using it only in sport or as self-defence) and instead it's all instructions like:

Bait your opponent, then when he attacks, shift back, face kick, BOOM

Chiswick school.

Taekwondo is taught as a sport, from what I can tell. They do self defence stuff seperately.

EDIT: There doesn't seem to be much in the way of light kicks. They're taught to kick as hard as possible. When the master demonstrates his kicks it's like a bomb has gone off. Definitely wouldn't want to be on the end of that.

Has there been any more word on a Darkstalkers update done in the SF4 engine/style? I know Resurrection is due out soon. I'd love to see a slightly more abstract fighter done in the SF4 style.

Edit: I dunno why I'm asking this as I'm hardly proficient at SF, having any other fighters to try and play would make my brain melt I think.

After initially disliking SF4s looks I've got to say that I think I love them as much as any of the sprite based games. Which, for a miserable old bastard like me is... Something.

Also, pink joystick is pink! Though not as shockingly pink as I had expected.

I don't think there's been anything official other than that wild Darkstalkers Are Not Dead cg clip. I've not played the old Darkstalkers games enough so I'm looking forward to this wee double pack.

Is Darkstalkers 1 the Alpha 1 of Darkstalkers in that it's almost completely pointless?

Sodding Sony messing with my training.

Don't they know I've got a tourney in week and half? Couldn't they bloody wait?

Well, I'll be online anyway, if anyone is around on THEIR XBOX!

Is there a way to stream this sony thing on my xbox so that my lovely lady can continue to use her laptop while I'm geeking?

There's some serious irony for you.

I vote for "No."

As in, purposely blocked by M$.

I bet you can take screenshots of your beautiful new Naughty Dog exclusive AAA videogame release and post them straight to your Instagram and share them with your friends, all of whom are also taking screenshots of the same beautiful new Naughty Dog exclusive AAA videogame release and posting them straight to their own Instagram and sharing them with you. You don't need buttons because the game controls itself to make sure you don't miss the beautiful vistas.

Any predictions for ps4, bar it being an unmitigated disaster?

I am hoping to see some video games for children. I'm probably going to be disappointed.

Joffington - I'm not sure. I went to try IE via SmartGlass and it refused to connect to my Xbox so I played some Street Fighter instead. Until I got to a 3800PP/10kBP Blanka and simply gave up playing Street Fighter.
