Thanks to Curtis & co. for the games last night; having spectators pick the players' characters was lots of fun, even if it did result in some silly matchups :P Apologies to those who had trouble joining - I might try and get more games in today.

Some good games last night sirs! When it was down to just Qazi and Haggar it went all red bars for me. Highlight of the night for me was my drunk ladychum taking a round off Curtis' Rufus as a wildly mashing Fei Long. She even somehow did a flame kick FADC. It was a backdash with no follow up, but still.

Dogfingers seems like a nice fellow also and dished out some flashy nonsense of his own. Spectators picking each others character is a fun thing. Especially when I asked for a Dogfingers v Qazi Ken mirror, only for them both to mis-hear me as Gen. That was excellent. Made for a pretty fun match, too!

Also, Caz Chan! I may well be going to Hypespotting, yes. Though I think I may be working on the saturday, so it might be a non-tourmament appearance. I'll definitely be getting a few casual matches in at some point that weekend though. STREET FIGHTER.

I was seriously about to start that on three separate days in the last couple of weeks. I have not. I bet I never do. I want to though.

I did have a wee hour stint on it aaaaages back, and got a wee bit annoyed at the fact the boy just slashed his sort without me requesting each slash with a good old fashioned button press; I felt a bit disconnected from it; like playing Metal Geat Rising using Ninja Run and X button slashes. Didn't feel right.

I realise it's an RPG and not an action game. Maybe it'd start clicking for me once my characters abilities diversify. I like that you can't tell whether or not you actually like an RPG until you've already wasted ten full hours of your life on it.

Yeah, you probably do need to get about 10 hours in before you know whether you like it or not. The fighting is more about managing your special attacks (which all have cooldown) and your meter (which you either build up to do team attacks for big damage or save for reviving dudes when they get knocked down), and setting up your team to complement each other, and then going to find some big beastie you shouldn't really be strong enough to beat and then fighting him for ages. I like it, but is does only really get good once you have the later party members and you have a bit of understanding of the different abilities etc.

The game itself is more about running around crazy looking places and watching gloriously ridiculous cutscenes featuring plenty of 80s guitar solos and sorrowful piano. And the fight music itself which I always start singing just before it kicks in when I know it's going to be the special "boss" fight music. And the plot and the way the world opens out really is pretty special - sadly the really big moments for that happen at about 10, 40 and 65 hours respectively (if my rate of progress has been anything to go by), so it's a bit of a time investment.

Plus I have no idea how much is left. Presumably not much because *massive spoiler I'm not even going to post just in case you do ever end up playing it through*. Then again, it's already completely blindsided me with crazy developments at least twice, so who knows. I'll probably be playing it forever.

If it ends in S you can just chuck an apostrophe on the end. They're both acceptable but Ross' is the way I was taught at school and it makes me look pretty sophisticated so I like it more.

See, I was taught that you just added an apostrophe if it was already plural. If it wasn't already plural then you added apostrophe S.

So, Ross becomes Ross's.

Teachers becomes Teachers'.
