I think I remember seeing some poor makoto knocked down and facing a chippable death waking up to some jaguar axe kick from Adon use her Super's invincibility to cause a whiff and punish with a big KO. It was beautiful.

I can't wait til we have all the information on these new next gen consoles so we can figure out which one we'll be playing a backward-compatible copy of SSFIV on.

Ono did say as much at one point, didn't he? That he saw a future SF game where everyone had their own Ryu who they'd customise to the point where everyone's Ryu would be unique in appearance and abilities. I guess that way balancing the game would be our problem instead. Ono's mad.

I'll be sad if the next xbox does nothing to make it more desireable than the new playstation, because I don't have a PS3 stick.

EDIT: deleted the 'san' after Oni. What a fanny.

Also, joeplus, geez a stat-dump of yer C to shining C progress; wins rates and all that. I love that kinda thing.

I'm getting about 75% average players around my standard and the rest are pretty solid character specialists who kick my face off. My PP's pretty low from trying new mans though, so I'm probably getting people through same skill search (I always host).

I stopped doing ranked ages ago when I got Juri up to B and realised I couldn't get away with losing a few games here and there anymore, so I just host open lobbies (since I always get kicked when I join other people's :P )

Was that the other night? I don't remember that, but I do remember walking up to Donut and trying to bait him into ultraing with a meaty standing LK... which he punished with Ultra 2. Grr.

Chaps, My xbox died last week. Red scan lines everywhere. I was looking forward to joining in with the SFxT semi-revival :(. I doubt I'll buy another either as the nextbox still has some potential for being backwards compatible and actually good.

God, yes, why is it that I pay microsoft money for a fucking screen that's about 75% adverts. It's not as if there are even any servers for SF4, it's all done peer to peer. So essentially it's £30 a year for the odd demo and a somewhat flawed matchmaking service. It's so annoying!

I'm old enough that I should probably give up on videogames this console generation, but I absolutely will not.

Also, Imp, I'm going to burger and lobster tonight. I shall report back tomorrow.

Have you seen how it looks when you're not connected to the internet since the latest dashboard update? You get the same tiny rectangle for dropping into a game/submenu to see your games, and most of the rest of the screen is one huge black rectangle that basically says "Y U NO ONLINE?"

It's lucky that we all only play one game so we can just set it to automatically start running SSF4 when we turn it on.

It's not just the ads, but all the paywall guff too. Cross game voice chat? Please. That's easy enough to set up with the amount of devices people have these days. I even set up voice chat for a Mario Kart Wii session with friends once. After 2 races it was easy to see why Nintendo didn't bother with voice chat for Mario Kart.

Sony have come a long way from the big crab days.

That too. I've definitely been enjoying their output more lately.

Although... PGR5... I... umm...

I'm weak :(

I have a workaround that involves me clicking on the "play street fighter 4" button and ignoring the adverts.

Maybe the forthcoming steambox would be a nice way to play fighting videogames against a selection of other men and women, from the comfort of my uncomfortable sofa.

And your 360 sticks will most likely work without a problem...

Thanks to Joffocakes, Alistarr and Jlm for good set. Though I played far too long, over 2 hours straight and deteriorated into stupid scrub territory staring at screen slightly fuzzily unable to fathom quite what was happening and desperate to get 1 last win before turning it off. Didn't happen.

Some very awesome stuff did happen earlier. Can't remember it now. Will have to look at replays. I got someone's Dhalsim with Guiles 1 frame link, but I can't remember who.

Also... I don't understand Juri. Although I did beat her wall dive with st.Forward, which was cool.

I play other games too. Currently partway through Farcry 3, Final Fantasy 7, Flower, Heavy Rain and Borderlands2 2nd playthrough.

Speaking of other games; would anyone here be willing to ease me in to the online world or SFII HDR? I'm too scared to go in randomly. :)

The words 'ease' and 'HDR' 'Super Turbo' tend not to go hand in hand really, but I'm definitely up for some. I think it's pretty dead these days as only the scariest players still play it. It'll help you with your execution though, and Guile is quite horrendously good in it. I expect Jellum would be involved too.

Yeah, although I havnt dared try it online yet, I gathered that online would be filled with insanely good players.

Same reason I havnt dared tryed Third Strike online. However, at least I used to play SFII on my SNES. Until last October I had never played a round of Third Strike in my life. And even now I've only dabbled in Arcade Mode a bit.

Anyway, am on night shift tonight, so hopefully try out some ST in next couple of days.
